Rise up

I feel like time has dragged on at an impossibly slow rate since the start of the battle. As soon as we touched the ground, we came face to face with Todoroki's group.

"I'll be taking that now." He's completely fixated and determined to gain our ten million points. Todoroki holds his usual blank, expressionless stare as we eye each other ready to attack at any given moment.

I sigh with a small frown present on my features. "I was hoping this particular encounter wouldn't happen till the end of the battle," My frown quickly changes into an amused smirk, "but I'm always up for some fun."

"Now Iida forward" Todoroki grabs onto Iida's shoulders, preparing to chase after us.

I know outrunning them will be difficult and pointless since they have more speed than us. Todoroki's team is fast. Yaoyorozu and Kaminari have skates making it easier for Iida to just pull them along with him. Our group begins hurriedly backing away.

"Watch our surroundings. It's not just Todoroki. Everyone is after us" As Midoriya points it out, I see four other teams also closing in on us as well.

"Hope you made something strong, Yaoyorozu," I heard Kaminari say to his teammate as their rider wipes out a blanket, and Yaoyorozu creates a pole of some sort cutting into the ground as they run. "Indiscriminate shock 1.3 million volts!"

My eyes widen as Kaminari lets loose and sends out so many volts. I didn't think his quirk would be useful for a cavalry battle since he would just electrocute his teammates, but Todoroki had the perfect plan. He added Yaoyorozu onto the team to create an insulation blanket to protect them from the effects of Kaminari's attacks.

I can do nothing to stop such an attack, and I have no way to help my teammates. Despite knowing this, I still protectively wrap my wings around them, covering as much of their bodies as I can. Dark Shadow grows bigger in front of us and takes the bulk of the volts of electricity, but I still feel a fair amount of shock.

After the shock of electricity, Todoroki covers a vast area of the arena in ice, trapping the groups that were racing at us. We manage to increase the distance between us when the dual-haired boy decides to grab the immobilized team's headbands. As soon as he has the other headbands in hand, he creates a large ice wall trapping us in a small section of the arena. I look around in hopes of there being a small opening, but it's pointless as the wall circles around us from one part of the boundary line to the other.

"My wings are numb. I won't be able to fly us out of here until I can feel them again." I gripe while trying to flutter my wings, but the feeling is uncomfortable. They feel like a pointless weight attached to my body for no other purpose than for show. I glance back up at the team rapidly approaching and groan at how utterly useless I have just become to my team.

"Oh no, they're too fast. We can't get away." Ochaco squeaks out as Todoroki gets closer and closer with each growing second.

"Take care of them," Tokoyami commands, and Dark Shadow promptly shoots out toward our opponents. Dark Shadow increases the size of his claw and goes to slash at the team. Still, Yaoyorozu quickly manifests a metal shield stopping the attack.

Midoriya taps the side of my thigh, gaining my attention, "She's too good at her creation quirk. We have to be careful." I knew that she was good, having seen her along with the other recommendation students, but I underestimated her. I truly never thought about just how useful and powerful her quirk could actually be in combat, not to mention her training in martial arts.

"No, Kaminari is the one we have to fear. If there was any more sunlight, Kaminari's attack would have completely destroyed Dark Shadow," Tokoyami speaks up, disagreeing with Midoriya. He's right. If Kaminari attacks again, we will lose Dark Shadow, and I'm sure my wings wouldn't be of use for the rest of the battle. "As long as he keeps using his quirk, it will be challenging for me to attack. Dark Shadow is too timid in light." As he finishes, Dark Shadow begins whining like a sad puppy.
