Katsuki rolls his eyes at me as I tease him for taking longer than me to pass the first portion of the exam. We are waiting for the last students who passed to make their way here so we can start the second test.
"Tch. Quit yapping Y/N. They are starting to explain the next test." He states harshly as he places a hand on the top of my head and turns my gaze to the large screen on the other end of the room.
On the screen shows clouds of dust encasing the arena as numerous explosions go off. The announcer explains that we will be saving helpless bystanders from a mock villain attack. Each contestant will be individually judged based on a points system to determine if they pass.
Like the first part of the test the room begins collapsing around us as the countdown to start begins. Once the announcer says start everyone is racing out beginning the search for hurt civilians.
"I'll head to the higher sections to search for the injured," I tell my classmates before pointedly staring at Katsuki. "Do try to stay calm and not explode on any innocent people."
"I know what I'm doing, idiot!"
I barely hear him shout as I take off towards a half collapsed office building. After circling it I spotted a small group of 3 bystanders stuck about 6 floors up. Changing direction I head back and land on the floor that they occupy.
"Is any one seriously hurt? Can you all walk?" I question as I scan them to check for any critical injuries. They all shake their heads no and state that they can all walk. "Good. Do you know if anyone else is in this building too?"
"I'm not too sure." The older gentleman speaks up.
"Alright. I'll take you down one at a time then come back and do another check for citizens. After that I'll lead you guys to the medical zone."
I contemplate who to take down first, the older guy or one of the two kids. The older looking kid is holding the hand of the one who seems to be a toddler. It would be unwise to leave the kid by themselves in case they wander off the open end of the building.
"Hey bud. I'm gonna have you come with me first okay?" I motion the taller blonde boy over towards me. He nods his head then mutters something to the little girl who is clinging to him before walking over.
I have him grab onto me and hold him in place as we make our way out of the building. I make sure to keep my speed urgent but not fast enough to freak out the kid. Looking around I find a somewhat clear area close to the building to set him.
"Wait right here and I'll be back with the others."
After getting the young girl to the ground I quickly got the man down as well. Rechecking the building more thoroughly I don't see anyone else and head back to the people I've saved. I bandage the light scraps they each have using the small first aid kit I keep strapped to my hero costume.
"Follow behind me and watch out for falling or loose debris." I say as we walk to the first aid area not far off. "Oh also if you happen to see any other injured civilians let me know."
As we walk the younger two fall behind while the man stays next to me. "You did rather well for a first year student with no experience." He compliments.
"Thank you. I may have no real rescue experience, but the knowledge has been drilled into me for a long time." I chuckle thinking back on the boring classes I've been subjected to for as long as I can remember.
We don't walk much farther and I can see the mats set out hosting the injured. Searching the multiple mats I can tell which is for the less critical patients. I turn to acknowledge the two kids, "We've made it to the medical zone. You three will be on the mat at the far right, since your injuries aren't severe."
They begin to split off from me and are taken in by another hero. I turn to continue my search and spot Izuku running up while holding an injured boy.
"Izuku!" I call out and wave him over. "How badly hurt is he?" I ask as he comes to a stop in front of me and sets the boy down.
"His injuries are not severe. The cuts on his head are not that deep either." Izuku analyzes.
Before I can say where he needs to go someone else speaks up. "Then you will be at this mat over here." A girl states as she walks up and takes the little boy away.
"Y/N is this your first trip to the first aid area?" The green haired boy questions as we start walking off.
"Yeah I-"
Pausing mid sentence I whip around at the loud crashing sound not far off from the medical zone. Squinting my eyes I can't tell what has happened to cause the hole in the side of the arena.
"Is this a part of the test?" I grit out through my teeth as I get prepared to fight whoever walks through. A part of me knows that a real villain wouldn't have been able to get in here, but past events make me believe otherwise.
As the smoke clears I can see a shadow walking out from the collapsed wall. The top 10 ranked hero Orca stomps out and into view. His voice booms across the arena, "Tell me heroes! Can you rescue people and fight?"
