Change of heart

The two girls stared at Marinette completely shocked. They were speechless, how come they never figured it out? It all makes sense now. The repeated absence, lame excuses, always late, being gone while Akuma attacks. All they cared about now is to be there for Marinette and help her with everything they could.

"So....... You're not sad because Adrien broke your heart?" Chloe asked. That's what they thought the problem was.

"No, kinda.......Yes, I'm sad ok? But, I've always known that I can't be with him," Marinette looked down. "Any minute now Bunnyx." She knew she screwed up again, and Bunnyx would come and take her to the future to save it again. The two girls looked at each other confused.

"Who's Bunnyx?" Asked Chloe.

"She is a superheroine from the future, she has time powers. Whenever something is messed up in the time stream, she tries to fix it. And now I told you my secret and it will lead to a disaster in the future I know it. She should be here any time now." The two girls didn't know what to say. They now feel guilty. They waited and waited. Usually, it doesn't take that long.

"Weird, she always comes immediately, she is never that late," Marinette commented. Half an hour past and there was no sign of the time heroin.

"Ok, what's going on? Why isn't she here?" Marinette began to worry. Why isn't Bunnyx showing up? Has something happened to her?

"Don't worry, if she is not here that means you didn't screw up or anything," Chloe said.

"You said she only comes if there is a disaster, what if there is no disaster? What if this is meant to happen?" Alya remarked, wanting to give the heroine a bit of hope.

"But that makes no sense. If someone finds out I'm Ladybug, something bad happens in the future." Said Marinette.

"I'm not sure that's entirely true, we now know but, everything seems normal." Added Chloe. "Cheer up Marinette, we will now do everything we can to help you, we'll cover for you, we'll give your notes and homework, everything will be just fine."

"I.....hope so." Yes, she didn't mess things up this time, but she still thinks about Adrien, and Alya knew what was she thinking.

"So what about Adrien?" Asked Alya.

"He doesn't......love me back, my mo-, .....I mean Truthseeker mentioned that he doesn't like me back." The two girls looked at each other, then at Marinette. Poor girl, the weight on her shoulders is getting heavier and heavier. They were all cut off of their thoughts by Marinette's phone beeping. The bluenette grabbed her phone to check it and found a text message from Adrien.

Gabriel was in his office when Nathalie came in. He was looking at his photo with his son when she entered.

"You wanted to see me, sir?" Nathalie spoke.

"Tell me, Nathalie, does Adrien have any love interest?" Asked Gabriel, not removing his eye from the photo.

"He had some interest in the Tsuragi daughter." Replied Nathalie. "But he lost this interest a long time ago. Why do you ask, sir?"

"Adrien is the key Nathalie, he is the key to bringing my wife back." Nathalie began to worry. She knew they should never bring Adrien into this. The bot should never know the truth about his father, or Nathalie. But she still doesn't know why Gabriel need Adrien.

"I don't understand, why should we get him into this?"

"I will tell you later, now I have work. When I'm finished, I'll call you to get my son." She nodded and exited the office. She closed the door and rested her back on it. She shut her eyes and began to think. Gabriel is starting to change in her eyes.
