Marinette found herself surrounded by screens of different incidents. Some from the future, some were from the past. Bunnyx noticed she was looking at things she isn't supposed to."No peeking," Bunnyx said as she put a pot on Marinette's head.
"Sorry. So why am I here?"
"Well, I'm supposed to teach you some stuff about time. But I don't feel like doing it here."
"What do you mean?"
"Come on." She grabbed her hand and jumped through a portal.
"You can uncover your eyes." Marinette took the pot off. It was a sunny day with a light breeze. They were in a beautiful meadow.
"Wow. This place is amazing."
"I know right?" Bunnyx sat on the grass. Marinette copied her actions. "I come here to clear my head and relax."
"So where are we anyway? Sorry When are we? What if someone sees us?"
"Dunno. But humans weren't created yet. So we should be fine."
"Ok so..."
"Yeah right. I'm here to teach you, reassure you and warn you." Marinette raised a brow.
"Ok?"
"First things first. Imagine the timeline as a line. It's streaming through space, controlled by our choices."
"Choices? I thought everything is meant to be."
"Well yes, and no. There are variables and constants. Variables are choices that don't affect the timeline in a significant way. Like choosing what to eat or dress or watch. These choices are up to you."
"Yeah, that makes sense."
"While constants are the important choices you take. Big steps in your life. Like dating Adrien. Getting a miraculous. Defeating Shadow moth. Every choice has its time range. Their outcome is somehow predictable."
"How? How can you predict them?"
"Well let's say you decided to confess to Adrien. This creates some branches in the time. There is a big chance he'll accept. Because it was the time you've confessed. But if you did it sooner." Bunnyx clapped her hands in a loud thud. Marinette jumped from her place. "Boom time collapse on itself. It becomes unpredictable."
"What did you want to reassure me about?"
"Don't worry. You'll defeat Shadow moth, eventually. And you'll live happily ever after with your golden boy."
"Really?" Marinette's eyes shone brightly with happiness.
"No. But things will get much better when you defeat Shadow moth. Even Parisians will mark that day as a local holiday."
"Ok. What about the warning?"
"It's better if you keep your relationship a secret as long as possible. The longer the better. You must keep it from the media. His father would know and end your relationship. One of you will be heartbroken, then be akumatized."
"Yeah, but he is sometimes pushy. You know Adrien. His Chat's side sometimes shows up."
"I know, wait what? Did you just say Chat's side? When did you figure it out?" Marinette started to panic.
"I figure it out when we were stuck in a dream and-"
"Yeah right. Sorry, I forgot." Marinette sighed in relief. "I know he can be pushy but just keep reminding him of his dad. He will shut up."
