Miraculous: The Next Guardian (Book 2)

Perfect day

The sun has risen above the tall buildings of Paris. Adrien woke up to find it at 7 o'clock. The first thought that came to his mind was that he overslept. He quickly got up and went to the bathroom. But why didn't the alarm wake him up? He decided to let that thought slide for now. Although there is still one hour till school, his father wanted him to wake up early. He finished his bath, brushed his teeth and dressed up in his normal outfit. He went to Plagg to wake him up.

"Plagg, wake up buddy," The Kwami opened his eyes but he felt something was wrong.

"Something isn't right." The Kwami spoke.

"Yeah, we are an hour late. Come on. Let's go get some breakfast, and hopefully, my dad doesn't notice we are late."

The model opened his room's door and went down the stairs. He found that breakfast was ready and still hot. He didn't mind though, he was starving, which is a little bit disturbing. He saw Nathalie making her way towards him, with a....... smile? Yep, something is not right.

"Good morning Adrien, here is your schedule." She handed him the tablet. Adrien had his eyes widened as his schedule was......empty? This can't be right. His schedule was never empty. And the day just got weirder. His dad, The great Gabriel Agreste, came to had breakfast with him.

"Mornin' son," Gabriel said after he sat down.

"Good morning, father," Adrien said weirdly.

"Have you seen your schedule?"

"Yeah, it's......empty?"

"Exactly, I thought why not give you a day off."

"Umm...... Thanks?" The boy didn't know what to say. His father didn't do this after his mother passed away.

"No problem son, enjoy your breakfast, finish your school and you would have a day off. Do whatever you want." His father finished his plate then excused himself. Nathalie also excused herself.

"Did you see that Plagg? My father just gave me a day off." The Kwami flew out of his shirt.

"Which is why you should be worried, something is not right." Plagg blurted out.

"I agree with you that this is unusual, but hey, who could say no to that? Especially when I'm never free. I have a feeling this is going to be my perfect day."

"Your dad gave you a day off? Wow." Said Nino. Adrien and he were walking towards class.

"And the best part, I can do whatever I want."

"What are you gonna do then?"

"I'm thinking hanging out with my friends-" They were interrupted by the ground shaking beneath them. Then they saw Alya running past them.

"What is it, Alya?" Asked Adrien.

"It's Mr Pigeon."

"I......forget something in my car, I'll be right back." Adrien took off running to nowhere in particular. He found a well-hidden spot to transform. Plagg flew out of his shirt worried.

"I'm telling you, something isn't right," Plagg spoke anxiously.

"Alright, we'll get to that later, right now we need to help Ladybug." He said the magic words and Plagg got sucked into his ring transforming him into Chat Noir. He hurried to aid his Lady. Once he arrived he found Ladybug fighting the villain.

"Miraculous Ladybug!" Everything was back normal. The two heroes defeated Mr pigeon pretty quickly. But before Chat could bounce Ladybug asked him to stay for a few minutes.
