Napapikit ako sa sobrang irita nang makita ko kung sino ang dumating.

Now, after ignoring his calls for the last couple of days, he's here to shake my hands while handing me my certificate. Yup, totally normal day.

Alam ko pa naman kung anong mangyayari sa ganitong programa, katulad lang nito ng mga kailangan ko ring puntahan dati.

"Hindi na po kayo kasma, Miss?" Tanong ko sa kanya. Minsan kasi ay sumasama ang Prof sa stage kung may certificate man na makuha ang estudyante niya.

Umiling siya at ngumit sa akin. "No need, Rein. I know you can do it and you can pull this off. I believe in you. I don't mind not getting recognition and go up there with you. This is your hard work and I do not want to share the spotlight with you. Besides, you're the achiever, not me."

My heart warms with the words from Miss. It's really hard to find an educator that will not just teach you stuff that you need to learn from your course but also life lessons you can take with you everywhere.

"Thank you, Miss. I really appreciate you attending this program with me and also believing that I can achieve anything in my life." I thanked her with sincerity. Her eyes glowed with happiness from my words.

I'm the only one from her class that got the outstanding award. Instead of doing some other things with her time, she's here with me and supporting me. I can't take her enough for doing this with me.

"Let's start our program in recognizing our achievers for this semester. We're really proud of our students exerting efforts in their studies and also giving recognition by winning competitions in the name of our school." Panimula ng MC na nasa stage. I tried my best not to look on the person who's sitting next to the Dean of my program.

When I met his gaze, I almost froze in my seat. Jesus. His eyes were demanding answers and makes me want to come up to him. I immediately looked away to avoid any emotions that were about to stir up inside me.

Hindi ka marupok, Rein. Yes. You're not, girl.

Nagkunyari lang akong nakikinig at nanonood sa mga nagaganap sa harapan ko. Mahirap na baka mamali na naman ako nang tingin.

Tumayo ako nang tinawag ang pangalan ko. Nagbuntong hininga muna ako bago tumayo. I looked at my professor, she's smiling already and clapping her hands. I tried to smile back but I cannot since I was getting nervous.

Binilisan ko ang paglakad papuntang stage at inisip agad ang gagawi.

Papanik ng stage, ngingiti, magpasalamat at bumaba ng stage. Wala na akong ibang kailangang gawin.

Nang makatungtong ako sa stage at lumapit agad ako sa Dean namin. He congratulated me and shook my hand. He was about to give the certificate to me when someone interrupted us.

"May I?"

Muntik na akong mapa-irap ngunit pinigilan ko na lang. I calmed myself and looked at him.
