Chapter 17
3rd person POV

It was two weeks after Rose and Lissa's fallout nothing changed Rose kept ignoring Lissa and the princess just kept shooting her disgusted looks.

Rose POV

I didn't have class to day since I was going with Dimitri to my trials, I was supposed to have them last year but I was on the run with the princess so I have to retake it. I woke up earlier than usual, took a quick shower, got dressed and ran out the door with Tank right beside me. I went to the gates and saw Dimitri waiting for me next to the car we were using to get there.

- Hey Comrade how are you this fine morning? I asked while opening the back door so Tank could get in.

- I'm good Roza are you nervous for the trial?

- Yes... No... Maybe. I don't know, I told him as he started driving.

- You'll be fine Art is really nice I'm sure he'll love you, he chuckled.

- Wait, wait, wait did you say Art like in Arthur Shoenberg? I asked incredulously.

- Yes I mean him why?

- Mitri the guy is a legend, I said

The truth is I knew Arthur really well, I accidentally ran into while we were on the run and we clicked. He became like my father figure and we kept in contact, I was sure to have and earful since I hadn't wrote or called him in over a week.

2 hours later

- I'm hungry, I whine.

- Did you eat breakfast Roza?

- No I didn't want to be late.

He chuckled and we stopped and a fast found and got something to eat, the rest of the ride went smoothly until we got close to the Badicas house. I could sense the strigoi and there was a lot of them.

- Dimitri be ready there's strigoi in the house, I warned.

- How many? He asked while stoping the car.

- I can sense at least 8.

He nodded and we got out of the care, I transformed immediately I knew it was going to be easier to take them out as the Killer Wolf since they were probably looking for me anyways. I took Tank out as well so he could have his fun, don't judge me my psi-hound likes killing strigoi. Anyway Dimitri got his stake ready and I was in the lead, Dimitri in the middle and Tank in the back. We slowly went up the driveway and heard the havoc inside I decided to screw the stealthiness and just barge in. Once we were in we all got to the fighting, fifteen minutes later we were done and all the moroi were okay. I looked at Tank and Dimitri they were both fine, a couple scratches here and there but nothing serious. I then slowly looked towards Arthur, he knew I could transform into a wolf and that is was the Killer Wolf. He told the other guardians to take care of the moroi while he talked to Dimitri, they nodded and left with the moroi.

- Come on Rose transform back we don't have all day, he told me.

So I did as I was told and transformed back not missing the surprised look on Dimitri that Arthur knew my secret.

- Hey Arty, I mumbled.

- I haven't received a call or an email from you in over a week and now you stroll in kill five strigoi and all you have to say is "hey Arty" and I don't even get a hug, he said.

Like I said earlier I was gonna get an earful.

- Well sorry Art I had school, found out my best friend never was my friend and just used me since I was five years old, had to kill one of my friends, had to save said so called friend from Victor Dashkov cause he wanted to use her for his own good since she could heal temporarily his syndrome and I almost forgot got marked for my sixty first kill, I told him.

He just looked at me at a lost for words and hugged me, I'm not one to show emotions but at that moment I broke and started sobbing into his shoulder. He rubbed my back while I continued to cry.

- So the princess just wanted to use you as pawn to not get in trouble? He asked softly and I nodded.

- I thought I could finally have sometime normal but I guess not the world is just against me, I said my voice muffled by his shirt.

- I know kiddo it's okay.

We continued to hug for a few minutes and then pulled back.

- So did I pass my trial Arty?

- Yeah kiddo you past your trial, he told me and I nodded.

We talked for a bit and then Dimitri and I headed back to the school. The first hour was quiet.

- What do you wanna know Dimitri I know you want to ask me something.

- How do you know Art?

- I ran into him while on the run we clicked stayed in contact he's basically my father, I answered.

- So what's the count? He asked.

- 66, I answered, you?

- 13.

We changed subjects and continued to talk till we got to the school, once we arrived Dimitri parked the car in the garage and we walked to Alberta's office to get marked, again.

- Hey mom, I said walking in.

- Hey Rose how are you?

- Good but do you have the tattoo artist on speed dial we kinda need him, I gestured to Dimitri and I.

- How many this time Rose?

- I got four and Dimitri got one, I answered.

She called the guy and we both got marked, once everything was done we headed to our respective dorms after sneaking a goodnight kiss. The next morning I woke up at my usual time with Tank still sleeping and taking over half of the space on the bed. I chuckled and started to scratch his tummy, after we got up, I put on my training clothes and headed to training with Tank in toe. Once we got there Dimitri and I did our usual training and after I took a shower and headed to my first class, bodyguard theory, I swear that class is the most boring one in the whole universe.

Once I got there I sat at the back of the class like always, all the other students started to fill in took there seats, a few minutes later Stan came in with a smirk on his face and looking at me, I knew I was in for a ride if he had that face. After the bell rang class started.

- Miss Hathaway it's nice to see you since you weren't here yesterday, he said while looking at me.

- You know exactly why i couldn't be here yesterday.

- Do enlighten me Miss Hathaway, he slurred.

- Fine then I was at my trial since I didn't take them last years, I said through gritted teeth.

- Yes that's right I remember now and do you pass, he asked still smirking.

- Of course I did, I said.

He finally decided to leave it and I was grateful, the rest of the day was uneventful but again the universe hates me so something else was going to happen for sure
