George heard a ping from his phone, he rubbed his eyes and grabbed his phone off his nightstand. The date read Saturday, November 21st, 2020. 11:06 AM. His vision shifted to a notification under it, a text from Colt. "Good morning" George replied the same quickly and shut his phone off. "God everything is fucking confusing oh my god," he said to himself before dragging himself out of bed and to the bathroom. He splashed water on his face and brushed his teeth. Slumping slowly back

to his room and throwing another hoodie on, he grabbed the first one, and ironically, it was Clays. He sighed and pulled the hood over his head. He walked into his kitchen and grabbed himself a glass of water and a peach. Walking back to his room and sitting down at his pc. He turned on his pc and opened discord. A dm from Colt, "VC?" he felt a breath escape his lips before replying "sure." He took a bite out of his peach and got an incoming call.

"Hi!" It was way too early for this "Heyo" George replied. Colt started rambling on about some dumb thing that happened in a game he was playing. Something about someone asking him out? He wasn't paying attention. He could tell his feelings for Colt weren't as strong as Colt's feelings for him. He was still confused as fuck. He loved Clay, platonically and romantically. He just didn't know what the fuck to do about it all. It had been about two and a half weeks since he and Clay voice called for longer than an hour or so. The week Clays mom visited. Eventually, he heard Colt saying "George? George?" George slipped back into reality "Oh uh sorry what?"

"Nothing you just zoned out, it's all good."

Colt continued to ramble on about his story and George continued to try and sort his thoughts. It wasn't working. After about an hour of talking Colt had to go do something. They said their goodbyes and George brought his water glass into the kitchen. He figured he might as well get the mail. He walked to his mailbox and grabbed the mail. Just bills and random stuff like that. Except for a letter from Clay. George laughed "Why'd he send me a letter? He could have just texted me." George walked inside and threw the mail on the counter. He grabbed the letter and sat down at his table. "Welp, let's see what this is." He opened the letter. He skimmed it and took a deep breath. This doesn't sound good, fuck.

He started at the beginning and read through the whole thing. Okay what the hell did I just read?

Obviously, Clay's feelings were more than valid. But George thought it was a little harsh. George re-read the letter again. Well I mean at least he was honest. Why did he even send it in the first place? George walked back into his room and sat down. He grabbed his phone and went onto Snapchat. He opened his and Clays thread and began typing. Five minutes passed. Opened. Shit.

Clay's POV

Saturday, November 21st, 2020, 11 AM. Clay woke up in a sweat. Bad dreams. Shit, I have to be at my mom's in like an hour.

Clay hoped out of bed and grabbed jeans and a shirt from his closet. He ran into the bathroom and turned on the shower. He washed his hair then his body, turning the water off quickly and throwing a towel around himself. He brushed his hair and threw his clothes on. He walked into the kitchen and grabbed some cat food for Patches. God, he was tired. His mom's house was about a 30-minute drive from his. He quickly grabbed an apple from his fridge and ate it while watching Patches eat her food. He grabbed his phone from his pocket and scrolled through his social media. Still nothing from George. Had he even gotten the letter yet? Probably. The clock hit 11:28 and Clay put his shoes on. His head was throbbing. He quickly texted his mom "Leaving now, be there soon!"

He grabbed his keys and walked out to his car. Rolling down the windows and turning the radio on. He figured he might as well sing and try and forget his throbbing headache. He drummed his fingers on the steering wheel and sang along to the radio. A small smile droned on his face. After just about 30 minutes, he reached his mom's house. He put his phone in his back pocket and rang the doorbell. Soon a short blonde opened the door.

"Clay!" the girl said and hugged him

"Hi, Drista!" Clay replied and hugged back

"Did you bring Patches? I wanna see Patches!"

"No I didn't bring Patches, I'll bring her next time. Where's mom?"

"She's in the kitchen making food"

Clay walked into the house and walked into the kitchen where he was greeted with a hug from his mom. "Hi Clay."

"Hi mom"

"I see Drista let you in"

"Mhm"

"So how's work?"

"I dunno, same old same old I guess"

"That's always your answer"

"Well it's the truth" Clay laughed

"How's George?"

Oh god no this again. Already? Seriously?

"Oh oh, he's good!"

"That's great. I'm making tacos cause Drista asked for them."

"Cool! I'm not super hungry but I'll eat later"

"I have something to show you that I found. Come to the basement with me"

"Okay mom"

Clay put his phone on the counter and walked down to the basement with his mom. Drista saw a notification from Snapchat. Who could it be? She opened Clay's phone and saw that it was George. She clicked on the chat and there was a paragraph.

"Listen Dream, I'm not sure if you meant to send that letter but I figured I might as well answer over a text because sending another letter would take way too long to send. I understand you're confused. Cause trust me I am too. But I'm really trying to figure everything out. And trust me, you didn't do anything. Can we try and talk about this later, please? Text me when you can because communication would be best. I still care about you as much as I did before. I love you too Dream."

Oh god. Drista swiped out of chat and put Clay's phone back on the counter. She forgot to save the chat. She grabbed a can of Sprite from the fridge and sat down at the counter. He wouldn't notice, right?
