Kaneki sighed as he massaged his temples. Including himself, there were currently four ghouls inside Hogwarts! One was much but four was laying it on more than a bit too thick!

Eyebags seemed to materialize from nowhere as he got up from the Gryffindor table.

He walked toward the odd group with a forced, sickeningly sweet smile slapped on his face.

(A/N: Anything italicized is Japanese)

"What the hell are you doing here?!" He asked, tensely smiling at Tsukiyama who was steadily growing worried that he was going to pop a blood vessel.

"Hehe, we were apparently invited by the school. Sorry!" Kimi said sheepishly.

When Kaneki turned to address Kimi his demeanor completely changed. "Oh no don't worry you're fine," Kaneki said waving his hand in dismissal and momentarily losing all his threatening aura.

The two idiots hadn't stopped fighting yet and almost as soon as Kaneki looked away from Kimi his smile became forced again in annoyance.

"Excuse me, is that arguing I hear?" he asked, placing a hand on both of their shoulders causing them to jump.

"N-nope not at all! We're buddies right?" Nishiki said nervously.

"Yup, friends. 100%. No doubt about it." Ayato said with a borderline frantic nod.

"Good," Kaneki responded with a slow nod "Let's get you guys speaking English then."

The one thing Ayato and Nishiki could bond over, their shared trauma of being on the wrong side of Kaneki.

"excuse me professor would you mind helping us out with a translation charm?" Kaneki asked Flitwick politely.

"Oh of course," He said, pulling out his glowing wand.

"What - the hell did he just do?!" Ayato started in Japanese and ended in English.

"Language Ayato!" Kimi reprimanded

"Hmph- whatever,"

"Merci professor, not all of us know English so that makes things much easier," Tsukiyama said, thanking the short man.

"Not a problem,"

"Oh! I forgot to ask," Nishiki remarked, "How many days are we staying? I have a pharmacology test later this week,"

"You may stay for the remainder of the school year if you wish to observe the entire tournament. Otherwise, we'll have another portkey set up for the morning after the trial and you can come back right before each trial," explained Dumbledore

"Thank you, If I may inquire where will we be sleeping during our stay?" Tsukiyama asked.

"You can stay in the temporary family quarters then. During the day you're allowed to follow Kaneki to his classes so long as you don't interfere with the lessons. I'll have Nick show you there. Would you like to stay for breakfast?"

"No-," Ayato butted in.

"Of course we'll stay. Though I should say that we ate before we left," Tsukiyama interrupted with a deceptively sweet smile.

Ayato glared at Tsukiyama with both shock and disgust. Almost immediately Kaneki stepped on his foot with a passive but intimidating stare.

"Ayato didn't you just say how much you were looking forward to trying the food here?" He asked seriously.

"I-I did but I don't want my opinion to be clouded by the fact that I'm full,"

"Oh? When did you become a gourmet?!" Tsukiyama teased.

"Besides, young Kimi hasn't eaten yet. Be more considerate!" Nishiki said through masked passive-aggressive anger.

"Oh no it's fine if you want to skip eating. You're already stuffed so I don't mind missing a meal!"

Kaneki sighed and pinched his forehead "Ayato, be respectful while you're here ok? If you understand that then you can head up to the room with the other two. I'll stay with Kimi,"

"R-right boss,"

McGonagall's suspicion that Kaneki was involved with gangs almost went through the roof when she heard Ayato call him boss. That painted a new picture though, he didn't just look like just a high ranking member now, he looked like the leader of the gang. That was a level of involvement in crime she hadn't expected.

Granted she was probably jumping to conclusions a bit too fast. You could just call some boss casually but when she added on everything that happened in Tokyo made her suspicious that this was deeper than that, something she shouldn't write off.

She kept her face professional and blank as she watched them split up and leave when she noticed that feeling again. The same unsettling feeling of danger that she felt in Tokyo. That hadn't just been her imagining things this time!

"-neva? Minerva?!"

"Oh sorry! What was that?"

"You were right, they are weird," Pomona confirmed, "Something about them makes me way more nervous than I should be. They don't feel right."

"Yeah," she agreed a bit absent mindedly. She set her calculating gaze on Kaneki and Kimi trying to ignore the little part of her brain trying to tell her she was reading too much into it. She was almost sure that there was something bigger under all the small inconsistencies and if there was one thing she couldn't help but indulge herself in it was a mystery.
