Before you read: This chapter will be focusing on bits and pieces of Yukiko's background in debating. Please feel free to comment if you are confused about some things I will try my best to answer you!

~~~~~~~
Joining clubs was never in Yukiko's agenda.
And yet here she is listening and being oriented by club members of the Fukurodani Academy, Debate Society and Public speaker's circle.
If she were to blame anyone— it's her best friend Ono Reon— who usually goes by as Rhaf— for dragging her into this mess.
Fukurodani Academy: combined Middle school and High was a powerhouse.
They have remarkable sports teams— namely basketball, tennis and of course volleyball.
Having one of the top five aces in the country is something to brag about ain't it?
Anyways...
On the other hand there is Fukurodani's hidden gem.
Their most prized organization.
Fukurodani's debate club— was not like any other club.
How they pick their members was a hard process— and over a hundred participants— newbies and older students who still wish to be part of the organization— only fifteen are able to actually join after passing the orientation.
Yukiko was part of the college prep course— so of course senior club members prioritize in scouting them for the organization.
She wasn't interested. Not at all— she opted to just join a club like the book club so that it wouldn't bother her already full schedule.
Her blue haired friend had other plans though.
How he managed to convince her to screen with him was a mystery the brown haired girl failed to solve.
In all honesty she couldn't bring herself to say no to him.
Among other screeners was Ozawa Eijiro, Fukunaga Katie, Kimura Raya and Nam Jaebeom— whom she knew since elementary; Then Mizuki Akako,  Makoto Yui from the same class as her and Rhaf, there were still a bunch of their other classmates and batch mates but the author was too lazy to note everyone down.
Most of them are pretty insignificant for the story anyways... Uh— no harsh feelings though...
Orientation came and go where senior members discussed the basics of debating.
Asian Parliament Format, and then the speaker roles.
Prime Minister and Leader of Opposition are the first speakers. They are also the opening speakers. They're in charge of setting the debate, introducing their side and giving arguments to justify their stand.
The Deputies are constructive speakers. They are the extension and secondary speakers. They are in charge of rebuttals and challenging the other bench. They're the ones who give extensions to the arguments of the first speakers.
Needless to say deputies are the ones who barks and bite at the same time.
The whips are a rather special case. They're in charge of summarizing the debate— typically the ones responsible for providing issues in the debate. They cannot give new matter or arguments. Their job is basically to persuade the adjudicators that their side is more favorable than the other.
Like what the Senior members said— the whips "whip" asses— uh or something like that...
Reply speeches are speeches done after the final whip speaker is done with their speech. They are usually accomplished by one of the constructive speakers. (Prime/Leader or the Deputies)
