Bungo stroll: #NationalComingOutDay

Thus comes the day where everyone come together (on social media) and find the confidence to come out at tell the world their respective identity.

It was one of the many things the Fukurodani Academy debate society had educated and encouraged its members to be aware of.

The club's head advisor— Sugawara-sensei is gay and was married to a police officer stationed in Yokohama.

Typically, he guides and encourages his students to accept their respective individual identities as well as those of others.

It was a rather cloudy daw and only heard from the Debate club room was the idle chattering of a group of third year seniors, comparing notes and discussing the adjudication of the debate that had just preceded.

The two groups that participated in the debate, the government side— which consisted of Prime Minister Ozawa Eijiro, Deputy Makoto Yui and Whip Mizuki Akako— and the opposition side— consisting of Leader of Opposition Fukunaga Katie, Deputy Dazai Yukiko and Whip Nam Jaebeom— were all waiting in the hallway outside of their clubroom, overlooking the volleyball club as they run laps in the open field through the window. They were discussing what happened during their debate.

Akako ran his hand through his short blond hair scowling. "I told you I dismissed your poi¹ because I did not think it would be necessary." He snapped at an amused Yukiko. "No way I'm scared you'll leave me speechless like the last debate."

"I didn't say anything though." The brunette drawled out smirking. "I didn't think the oh-so-great Mizuki Akako would be intimidated by me."

"Can't really blame him though," Jay B crosses his arms. "To go against the Devil's Advocate, terrifying."

"I'm glad I'm on your team Yukiko!" He chuckled.

"Just a friend, he says." Eijiro coughed earning an eye-roll from the two.

"Adrien Agreste, who?" Makoto giggled.

"By the way, it's the time of the month again was it?" Asked Katie, averting the topic.

"National Coming out day." Makoto placed a finger on her lip. "Despite the name, it's more like a month."

Yukiko grinned. "Who d'ya guys think it'll be this year?"

Eijiro pondered for a moment. "No one knows until the last minute, it's always a surprise."

"Sugawara-sensei each approached us individually asking if we're already comfortable enough— most of the third years— and me— did it last year, so it's down of either one of you." Akako narrowed his eyes.

"I'm definitely curious about you, Dazai."

Katie agreed. "Yukiko's the most mysterious one— even back then."

"Me? I mean I guess," Yukiko trailed her gaze down to the floor. "I'm still waiting for the right moment."

Makoto grinned and lightly punched her shoulder. "Don't make us wait too long."

"Guys..." Jay B spoke in a sudden serious tone making everyone look at the read head. "Today, I'll be the one coming out."

The remaining five debaters shared a look.

"We support you, Jay B." Yukiko smiled a sincere smile. "Whatever your identity may be."

There was a chorus of "yeahs" and encouraging nods making the burgundy haired male take a deep breath as he straightened himself from his former position leaning against the wall.
