What was once a stack of DVDs now lay scattered on the surface of the bed blanket, positioned to where they could be viewed easily for later reference and eventual decision making. But so far, the latter was going extremely slowly.

"Erm...maybe this one!" 2D pointed to one of the DVDs, but then slowly retracted his pointing finger hesitantly. "No, no... This one!" He pointed to another.

You crossed your arms, doing your best to not get impatient with him. "D, why don't you let me decide?"

"Are y'sure? 's a very hard decision." He warned.

You smiled knowingly. "Ah, I know," you played along. "But I can do it. Watch."

You approached the set of DVDs and closed your eyes. Saying a few words in your head for good luck, you pointed out in front of you. "That one!"

"Y/N, tha's a wall."

You pointed to an area lower than the previous one. "Okay, that one."

You opened your eyes to see where your pointer had fallen on; one DVD in the middle of the set. The outer case looked worn, like it had been owned for a long time and been through a lot.

"Day of the Dead!" 2D's face brightened at the sight. "Tha's my favorite. 'ave y'seen it before?"

You hummed in thought. "Once a long time ago, I think."

"Ah, 's a classic. I fink y'gonna like it. Er, I hope y'will, at least." His voice had a hint of a kind of shy excitement. Like he could talk about the movie forever, but he'd spare the details for your sake. "Put it in!"

You put all the other DVDs back in a stack next to the TV and put Day of the Dead into the DVD player. You and 2D scrambled excitedly onto the edge of the bed as the TV screen faded into life.

As soon as the DVD menu popped up, 2D practically seized the remote and punched the play button. He was buzzing, grinning ear to ear where he sat as the movie finally started.

"This movie's, like, 25 years old, bu' 's a classic," he told you. "'a seen it so many times I cou' probably recite it wi' my eyes shut."

You couldn't help but share some of his excitement. It was relieving just to see him genuinely happy about something.

The movie opened to a shot of a lady in a very empty room made of stone. The opening credits passed by under her. She looked up, and the camera moves to straight ahead, where there's nothing there but a single calandar. She gets up and walks over to it slowly.

You look over at 2D, who is grinning and holding his hands together in what looks like anticipation during this mundane event.

"What?" You ask.

"Watch," he answers, giggling at your confusion.

You think nothing of it and turn back around. The woman is carefully examining this calandar; for the month of October. All the days have been crossed out, and there is a photo of a pumpkin patch sitting above them. As she's looking at the photo, her hand hovering over it, suddenly at least a hundred rotted-looking hands crash through the stone wall and grab at her.

You promptly jump out of your skin and yelp, causing 2D to laugh.

"Oh, shush!" You scold him half-playfully, a hint of an embarrassed blush tinting your cheeks.

The room of hands turned out to be a dream, and now the lady and some other guys with her are in a helicopter, flying above a desolate location. They're playing some suspensful music over the scene. You swear you've heard it before.
