The next day, you didn't really have much you needed to be doing, so you utilized your time in the wisest way you could see how; you decided to try and pick up around 2D's room. Assorted items were scattered around the floor, not showing any signs of moving themselves elsewhere. But with his hectic schedule and general mindstate during this time in his life, you knew Stu would probably never get around to doing it himself, so why don't you step in and help him out?

This was your mindset as you circled around the room, whistling a tune along with the still barely functioning radio as you picked up, cleaned and dusted. It wasn't as much as a challenge as you'd expected (as long as you didn't come across any more socks on the floor, you'd be golden the rest of the way through.) In fact, cleaning was partly relaxing, in your case. It helped soothe some of your still lingering anxiety that bloomed over the events of the previous night.

Whenever you passed by the radio, if it started to screech with static, you'd adjust it to where it would stay on that station. You didn't want to miss when 2D and Murdoc would come on to do an interview in the next few minutes . That's where Stu was at the current moment; in the lighthouse with Murdoc, most likely preparing.

But this also created some anxiety. You really hoped Murdoc was in a good mood, because 2D sure as hell wasn't. You'd had to wake him up that morning, which in itself was quite the harrowing task, and he'd expressed to you multiple times that he wasn't feeling good at all, but he wouldn't tell you why. Still, you could tell he was exhausted, and really was feeling under the weather, but you knew Murdoc would kill him if he didn't show up to the interview, so as gently as you could, you got him ready and sent him off.

Some new noise alerted you back to the radio. You could hear some kind of radio show intro rumble into life, and you rushed over to adjust the volume accordingly. Finally, you began to hear an interviewer talking. Your heart leaped, and you knew it was time. You sat onto the bed, eyes locked on the now talking device.

It started off normally enough. Murdoc was asked about all his bands he had before Gorillaz formed. 2D entered the conversation long enough to let out a grumble at Murdoc's rambling. You smiled. He sounded exhausted, but so cute at the same time. He later made a jab at Murdoc's singing abilities, causing Muds to snap at him. You noticed he became increasingly agitated every time 2D spoke. He must have been already slightly pissed off before the interview even started. The dangerous mix of this and 2D's exhausted apathy didn't help to ease your mind as you listened.

They recounted the story of how Murdoc and 2D met; the fateful day of August 15th, 1997. You almost felt sort of special as this was occurring, recalling yourself how 2D had personally told you the story. It didn't surprise you to learn that Russel ended up joining the band against his will, due to Murdoc kidnapping him.

"All we needed was another g'tarist," 2D was about to elaborate. "We did 'ave one, Paula Cracker, bu-"

"Butshewasrubbish!" Murdoc interrupted quickly. You raised an eyebrow. You knew about Paula; not thoroughly, but you'd heard of her, during your many years of being a fan. The full story on her was in the Rise of the Ogre autobiography (which you had never read, but then again, it seemed even the band themselves hadn't either). What did she do that not even Murdoc would want to speak of her?

Later on they spoke of their influences, and their favorite kinds of music. Murdoc spoke of his old favorites, and 2D spoke of how he discovered new music (he got tapes, through the post - though you'd never seen any of them). You loved hearing him tiredly talk about what made him happy. But this happiness didn't last; Murdoc started talking about the disappearance of Noodle (in some detail), and the process of building the cyborg. You knew both were touchy subjects for 2D; without even seeing him you could feel him tense up.
