A/N: Me while editing the next chapters: Oh yes, pain. And suffering. Ah, maybe a little bit of sobbing and screaming in anguish over here. 😭🤣

Ackerman Journal Entry #65

For an Ackerman, distance, and loss of contact from its host can make the titan blood unstable. For the host, the bond can weaken when a host develops negative feelings for the Ackerman. Signs of a weakened bond will only manifest in the host because they carry the weight of the bond with them. At the moment, there are no known specific signs of a bond weakening.

Several days passed after your group and Levi's squad arrived at the southern outpost of Wall Rose. No news of when the Survey Corps suspension will be lifted were heard. Erwin must still be fixing up the damages. You thought to yourself as you watered the potted plant Levi brought the first day you came here.

It was still limp, but its color improved into a dull shade of greenish brown. You took a glimpse out the window, watching as Sasha and Connie were teasing Jean. Reiner and Bertholdt talking in hushed tones at the side while Ymir and Crista were laughing at Jean. "Any news?" Seth asked behind you, entering the kitchen to prepare for lunch.

You shook your head in reply. "Nothing. The Military Police must be pissed since they think they were taken lightly." You retorted in an uneasy manner. Its too quiet. Something else is going on in the Capital. You thought to yourself, stifling a laugh as the cadets stood up straight in a firm salute as Levi approached them with a frown.

"You and I are on patrol tonight, right?" You asked Seth, moving the plant towards the sunlight. He nodded, placing a cloth on his head to keep the hair away from his face. "I think we're with two of Levi's kids." Seth replied as you handed him the meat to be used for the sandwiches. "I expected him to line up his shift with you."

"It makes no sense for the two captains of both squads to patrol together, Seth." You replied with a chuckle. The cooking process was fast since you were only preparing sandwiches and a simple potato soup for lunch.

After calling everyone in, the group enjoyed their lunch peacefully until a knock on the entrance door alerted every person in the dining room. Levi stood up to get the door while everyone waited anxiously for his return. You and Seth exchanged glances, both not knowing who and what it could be.

Levi returned moments after with a letter in hand. "We're all to return to the base tomorrow." He explained, handing the note for you to read while you raised a brow at him. "Tomorrow? Why not today?" Seth asked, voicing out the question in your head. "I asked the cadet who delivered the letter from the capital and all he knew was that there were preparations needed to be done."
