Ackerman Journal Entry #112

A soul bond is forever. Even if the one dies, the bond continues to exist inside the one who lives. Thus, if the host dies of natural causes, the bond on the Ackerman will remain making them unable to bond with another. If the Ackerman dies, the host will be plagued by pain and fevers for the rest of their life.

-E. Ackerman

"Y/N!" Levi called out as soon as he entered your room, relief washing over his face as he went inside. You sat back against the pillows propped up behind you as Hange handed you a cup of water. Dinner just finished when you regained consciousness but despite sleeping for the entire day, you still felt exhausted and drained.

You watched with a cold gaze as Levi knelt down beside your bed, raising a hand to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear. You flinched, moving away from his hand with an icy stare. "What are you doing here?" You bluntly asked as Hange glanced between the two of you.

"I...I called him here, Y/N." Hange confessed with a guilty expression. "He was worried. And you'll only get worse if this continues. You guys need to talk properly. Patch things up, you know." They explained, placing a warm hand over yours with a small smile.

"Let him explain. Try to hear him out and if you're still pissed, just punch him." Hange said with a wink before turning to Levi with a threatening glare. "Don't talk over her. Let her speak her mind and don't force your feelings onto her." Hange told Levi before walking out and closing the door behind them.

You watched Levi's haggard appearance as he sat on the stool Hange was occupying before. His face was pale, with dark circles under his eyes. His usually pink lips were chapped and dry. His well-straightened clothes were unkempt and messy. He looked like how you felt inside, hell.

You sighed, frustrated. "Let's skip the part where you say you're sorry and that you didn't know it would happen and how you have no idea Historia is your fated host." You muttered. "What I want to know is what you'll do now."

Levi remained quiet, his hands clenched into fists on top of his thighs. "Do you hate me?" You heard him whisper with his head down. You bit the inside of your cheek. "I...don't." You replied bluntly as Levi whipped his head up, hope flashing in his eyes before your next statement shot it back down. "I'm disappointed."

Wrapping your arms around yourself, you stared blankly at the wall as you recalled everything that happened these past days. "You told me you'd keep me safe, you let me fall. Literally. You told me you'd give me a jewelry to mark our bond, you gave it to someone else. You said you'd never kiss anyone else's hand, you did. You said I'm your only host, you have another." You murmured softly. "You told me you love me...I don't feel it."
