King's Heir (A Dadmare fic)

As the god rounded up his kids his brother quickly wrapped an arm over his shoulder. Fresh held a bright grin on his face long with a very... hungry... expression and the king had to turn his head away in an attempt to get away from the stare. "There's a collapsing AU, an original, should be enough for you."

Fresh grinned, pushing his shades up and fixing them, "Thanks brah! Tell me the code, would ja?"

Error was the one to perk up at that, "LH 0.0A." Dust gave Error a very confused expression and Killer did the same. Error only tilted his head, glitching madly when Fresh gave him a pat on the skull, the little skeleton's glitches fizzling sharply in an attempt to intimidate the 'attacker' though it wasn't that effective. Error ducked his head, slipping behind Cross only for the parasite to laugh brightly.

"Aiight, I'mma dip, see you bros on the flipside and kids, be good for your dad." The colorful adult grinned, backing into a portal Nightmare had created.

There was a long moment of silence before Error mumbled under his breath, "Annoying..."

The older god gave a laugh as he smiled at his children, "Well, certainly sometimes, now, remember to be on your best behavior kids."

"We got it papa," Cross spoke up for everyone, slightly hiding his face behind his scarf. "Be nice to people and if someone decides to be mean just walk away."

"That's it," Nightmare smiled sweetly, taking Cross and Killer's hand, Cross holding Error's hand and Killer holding Dust's.

The king began to lead his boys out, three guards following behind them. The eight of them walked down the cobblestone path to the town below, guards watchful of the citizens around and one of them even waving to their family members. The god couldn't help but smile when the guard's girlfriend ran up to give her a kiss before parting ways, he laughed at the sweetheart nature of his mostly stoic and hardheaded warriors.

A few citizens grew close to observe the family, Nightmare only giving them gentle smiles and waves while his boys hid behind him. One of the teenagers caught the god's eye and he smiled, recognizing the skeleton next to them. He gave a wave to Candy who grinned brightly and waved back with a heavy amount of enthusiasm. Error tilted his head, gripping his dad's pant leg as they began to enter the market.

Killer immediately broke off from the others, wide-eyed as he glanced at the stores. Nightmare called out for him to watch himself but it was a bit too late as Killer had bumped into an adult, the little child falling on his butt with a small ouch. The adult turned around to look at who bumped into him, Nightmare detaching from his other boys to go get Killer.

The monster was already ahead of the king, kneeling down to help the tiny skeleton as Nightmare approached. The god smiled as he realized just who he was looking at, an honest surprise but a rather comical one. "Killer," He spoke gently, yet his tone was more of sturdiness, "you need to be more careful in the market okay, apologize to Ccino for bumping into him."

Killer nodded, looking up to the other adult and almost seeming shy. "I'm sorry for bumping into you sir."

Ccino only laughed a bit, patting the smaller's head. "It's alright, just be more careful."

The eyeless skeleton nodded, looking back to the king before gently hugging his leg. Nightmare smiled gently, rubbing Killer's back as the other's approached. Dust was quick to move to Killer's side, hugging him tightly, Cross only shot the two a gentle glance. Error approached slowly before seeming to perk up at the sight of the barista, smiling up at him while he gripped his older brother's hand.

The smaller adult looked over the children that now swarmed the king, "Are you just picking up any child you find now, your majesty?" The way Ccino spoke caused the king's cheeks to dust with cyan, eyelight seeming to widen before he chuckled.
