I lost a piece of empathy.
From that day on, it was like Zinoviya's life was on repeat. The girls would wake up, change into their tights and a leotard, they would dance continuously, their movements always complimenting the music. Then, they would change into black jeans and a blue shirt, and do gun practice, their skills increasing each time they pull the trigger. They would have a food break, and get right back to work. Thats just how it was. They didn't have a choice.
It was that way for a year.
Zinoviya had gotten plenty of beatings for not doing as told, and she cried. She told herself she would never cry again, but she did anyway. And she hated herself for it. Just two months ago, she had gotten a punishment for refusing to fight against another girl.
She thought she would lose.
It was the opposite.
Zinoviya pinned her to the floor.
After, they went to the 'Movie' room, where they watch the same film, over and over again. It was Snow White. If they wanted to graduate they needed to be fluent in more than just Russian, so they started with English. Every girl in the room would recite every word to the movie. If they refused, or if they stopped, it resulted in punishment.
Of course, Zinoviya began to comply to everything after that. she soon became skilled at hand to hand combat.
All of the older girls had already finished their graduation ceremony. Well, the ones who survived anyway, which was only one.
