It was only two days after the battle had ended and the death of the King had been executed. The palace was the only building to be destroyed and demolished and construction at a different straight of a new palace began at once. Elves used their magic to create stones and the dwarves used brute muscle to help with human carry stone to build a castle.
The location was on the outskirts of the city and away from the high dense population, or what was left of it. A city filled with a million people diminished to only two hundred thousand. Eight thousand people died under the command of the King, the Commander, and the Soothsayer.
With all three dealt with, the broken people were suddenly felt with lightness when they saw the power of the Yin-Yang Warriors killing the devil in the sky and sent it spiraling upwards to the sky.
In the city streets of a city laid eighty percent in ruins held up black and white flags. They parade on streets not field wit debris or liter; they rejoiced in the defeat of their tyrannical rulers. Now they were free from oppression and torment each civilian was placed through.
With no rulers for the moment, the remaining people of the citadel partied and paraded whatever food and drink they had available. They were helped by the dwarves with cooking meat and the elves for distributing wine and ale to every human civilian who has been out in unspeakable torture.
The winds of victory sailed through the city for the two days since the battle, and everyone was celebrating in their victory. The soldiers who battled constructed the new castle for the new human king Carvilius.
Other elves and dwarves quickly came soon after the battle and helped partied with the human civilians in the ruined city. Not only parties were held but also medical help to the sickly people and people who lost body parts. Healing of the elves helped the sickly, limbless, blinded people who drew back to their originals and happiness was brought back to the faces of adults and the children.
It was a nightmare that lasted for five years felt it was fading into a long, distant memory. At least for most people, but there were a few were who missing out of the glorious days: the Eclipse Twins.
Carvilius, Khon, Naeryndam, Arelzi and Gloribrog searched through the city with hundreds of soldiers not partaking in castle's construction or the parties hosted through the city. They spent two days around every corner and stone looking for Twins who suddenly disappeared without a trace when everybody's back was turned.
The first place Carvilius thought of was the old house of the Twins' parents. When he there to find them maybe rebuilding what's been destroyed, he found nothing. The house was gone, but the house's flooring within interior walls and halls remained. The Twins weren't at their old home.
He was joined by the others to look at a piece of cement lying on the ground with no bricked house or villa to be put on it. Otherwise, it looked like an unmarked grave with no tombstone or statue in honor of the person buried beneath it.
"What is this shit?" asked Arelzi.
"This, dark elf, is where a villa used to live. My old friends. This used to be a house where they lived their parents, and they lived as people of nobility. Rich people with a few slaves. The last time I was at this spot was when I saw them escape through the sewers underground. Thirty percent of the building was damage but still repairable.
"I thought they would be here to repair their home and live the same lives they used to live. But it appears the soldiers took every stone and brick and remove a part of history from the city. The old house of the Twins is gone, but it can still be rebuilt. We are just going to have to do a new layout of the building."
