Ch. 6 "Dad"

                                              Hayden POV

Me and Dad stood at the railing as we watched the city, the breeze ruffling my hair and clothes, 

"What you did tonight was amazing," He said 

I smiled looking at him,

"It wasn't really nothing," I said 

"Yeah it was, the way I hear is that you haven't even attempted to go back in the field, not after what happened during your first few months exploring," Dad said 

"How did yo-" I paused 

"Of course he told you," I mumbled as I scrunched my nose, 

Dad chuckled, 

"Hey I made sure he kept me updated on the things I know you would never tell me," He said chuckling 

"Of course you would," I mumbled, 

He pulled me into a side hug, 

I laid my head on his shoulder, 

"But I can't help but wonder what is bothering you?" He said 

"I don't know," I whispered, 

"You do know, you just don't know how to say it," He said 

I nodded, 

"Tonight was the first time in five years, that I got to shoot my bow, execute a plan and rescue," I said softly 

"So what's the problem?" He asked 

I smiled lightly, 

"The way it made me feel, I promised I wouldn't go back to this, but..." I mumbled 

"You want to," He said 

"I'm not sure," I said 

"It's your choice little bird," He said squeezing my shoulder, 

"I know, you know when you first met me remember?' I said 

"How could I forget? you right hooked me," He said 

I chuckled, 

"You know taking down HYDRA, thugs, gang members it never scared me, you know why?" I said looking at him, 

"Because you were one damn stubborn kid," He said 

I shook my head chuckling, 

"No, because I knew I had a very broken family, It was just me, so if anything were to happen to me no one would miss me, I was nobody," I said softly 

I chuckled thinking back on it, 

"But then.... I met you" I said looking at him, he smiled at me, 

"I met you and the avengers, and things started to change, and it scared me at first," I said 

"No? you scared?" He said not believing it in a sarcastic way, 

I chuckled, 

I nodded, 

"And I realized that night I was so badly injured that I made it to the farm, I realized I could lose my life, and there would be so many people that would be upset about that, and it frightened me," I whispered 

"It's true, I mean look at you, your getting married to Pietro, a guy I didn't exactly get along with for a while," He said 

I nodded, 

"You've impacted so many lives here," Dad said tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear, 

I nodded, 

"I just don't want to go back out there and something happen," I said sadly as My head rested on his shoulder, 

He chuckled, 

"I never thought I would see the day that you would be making rational decisions," He said 

I chuckled 

"Me either," I said as I smiled
