Ginny was nowhere to be found when I woke up. I assumed she was already in the kitchen to have breakfast. So I decided to get ready and go down. When I crawled out of Ginny's bed I noticed that I was still wearing my clothes from yesterday. Everything that had happened had probably taken more power from me than I wanted to accept at first.

I got undressed and took two steps back in terror, so I stumbled and fell back onto the bed. There were bruises everywhere and suddenly the memory of yesterday came up. My breathing became heavier and I felt the panic spread inside of me. But soon I heard laughter in front of the door and with that my burgeoning panic faded.

Fred und George, I thought and started to smile. The two managed to cheer me up in any situation, no matter how bad I felt.

Immediately the door swung open abruptly and Fred and George were standing in the door frame, through which they fought through. It was really an amusing sight.

„Y/N!" they called simultaneously.

I beamed happily at them. „Fred! George!"

"Wait until after breakfast. I have to recharge my batteries before-" said Fred, but George interrupted him: "Hey Freddie, I think Y/N would prefer me." Both had a broad grin on their faces.

All of sudden I remembered that I was just lying on the bed only wearing my underwear. Ashamed I pulled the blanket over me as fast as possible.

„Hey! Why are you storming in here like that?I could have been naked!" I yelled at them.

„Exactly!" both said again without losing their exaggerated grin.

„You don't have to hide from us, Y/N!" said George.

I looked at them with indignation, but I couldn't help laughing.

"It seems you have chosen someone else over us." he continued in a vaunchy way.

"Unheard! There is no one better than us!" Fred complained.

I was confused at first, but it didn't take long for me to understand what they meant. They noticed the bruises my father had left yesterday. I suddenly had a lump in my throat and my heart started beating harder.
I bit my lower lip to suppress my upcoming tears. If glances could kill, I'm sure mine would have even if I never intended to. In some way their words had hit me, although I knew exactly they never wanted to hurt me. It was their way of making jokes and they didn't know what had happened to me. After all, I hadn't told anyone and they saw me for the first time after the end of the last school year. But Fred and George quickly realized they had said something wrong and their grin turned into a distressed expression.

„We are sorry, Y/N." Fred said.

„We didn't mean to hurt you!" George added.

Both had the guilt written in their faces. Even if I tried to suppress my tears, now the first rolled over my cheek. I blinked a few times, gave them a assuring look and smiled shyly.

„E-everthing is alright. You can't know... -„

„Fred! George! Leave Y/N in peace and get down here now!" Molly's calling interrupted me at once.

The twins glanced understanding at each other and left the room as fast as they came in.

„See ya" they called when they ran down the stairs.

I shook my head laughing and sat up again. I reached for a white summer dress in my trunk. In consideration of my bruises I actually didn't want to wear a dress, but it was so warm today that I couldn't stand long clothes today. Besides, there's no reason to be ashamed, I told myself and also went to the kitchen.
