The last few days have been relatively unspectacular.
We had spent the evenings together more often and enjoyed the time together, we talked and laughed a lot. I really appreciated being here. Here I had the feeling to be liked, to not being alone.
it was a little sad to know that it would be the last summer we would spend this way. After this summer we would all take different paths. Of course, we would stay in touch and not lose sight of each other, but it wouldn't be the same. So we tried to spend as much time as possible together.

It was Saturday night and I spent my time with the twins in their room. They had their beds opposite each other. They sat in their beds as I leaned against George's and thus turned my face in Fred's direction. George played with my hair, which I found very pleasant. I was sure I would fall asleep soon if it continued like this.

"Y/N, is everything all right?" George started the conversation.

"You seem kind of..." Fred continued.

"...different." George finished the sentence.

Confused I looked at them.

"In what way?" I asked, not sure what they meant.

"Well, just different."

"You seem..." Fred started again.

"...kind of thoughtful." continued his twin brother.

"That's what you think." I answered, laughing.

"We don't believe you." they said simultaneously.

I rolled my eyes. They knew me too well and they knew immediately if I wasn't honest with them. But I just couldn't tell them what actually went through my mind lately.

"Tell us..."

"...what is going on."

"All right, if you want to know. It might sound ridiculous, but please just don't laugh. I just often think that this is the last summer we will spend together in this way and that I'll have my last year in Hogwarts. I just can't imagine that, well, my school days will soon be over."

I lowered my eyes to the ground and played with my skirt, in the hope that my lie would not stand out. Besides, it was only half a lie. It was actually the case that these things around the school went through my mind, just not as penetrating as those around this darn man who calls himself Lucius Malfoy.

"Oh, is someone getting sentimental?" Fred asked teasingly.

"Oh, shut up!" I hissed, laughing.

"I just can't get rid of the feeling that you're hiding something from us." George said suddenly, mistrust occupied his voice.

"I could swear there's something else." he added.

I turned to him in surprise.
Why doesn't he believe me?

"Why would you think that? I've told you everything." I said, hoping that my insecurity remained hidden.

"Y/N, we know you well enough. We'll know when you're lying." George responded.

"Well, then you don't know me well enough because as I already said, I told you everything."

I noticed them staring at me.
Goddammit! Please let them stop.

"I agree with George, Y/N."

"Oh, come on Freddie. That is not fair. Why would I lie to you?"

"We don't know why. All we know is that you do." they said.
