Chapter 6- Can We Be Family If Im Different?

"Come on Creepy Gene! You need to eat too!" Ben says as he rushes over to me as I am still laughing. 

He tries to reach over to me as I block him. 

It was like when I play fought with my dad when I was younger. 

I was having fun with Ben and Noah. They were like family to me and I didn't want to lose them.

I could sense that Ben was playing and wasn't trying to hurt me, but somehow it hurt that I pretended I didn't have a home. 

I didn't lie! I just didn't tell the truth. 

"Gene you got to eat!" Ben yelled "I would if you stopped trying to reach me" I laughed. 

It was all fun and games until Ben knocked off my hat. 

Ben took a step back, I sat there trying to understand what just happened, and Noah stopped eating to stare at my ears. 

"Fluffy!" Noah exclaimed "No Fluffy Noah!" Ben yelled "Get behind me!". 

I could sense fear and anger from Ben and just confusion from Noah. 

"Ben..." I tried to speak but Ben did want to hear me "No!" He yelled "What are you!"! 

I stood up and took off my jacket that was around my waist causing my tail to show. I moved my tail up to my face and twitch ears. 

"I'm a fox from the omega verse" I say looking up at Ben who is holding Noah "It's a curse" I say moving my tail away from my face "How long have you been in that curse" Ben asks me "Ever since I was born" I respond "It's a curse that affects members of my family on my mothers side". 

I can't believe I'm telling them this! 

This is my family! What if they leave me? 

This can't be happening! Wake up Genevieve! 

I-It's not a dream... 

"Which members?'' Ben asks "Great Grandpa, Mom, Grandma, Sister, and Me." I respond "Can you be harmful to us?" Ben questions. 

This must be the star question. 

The question that is most important. 

The wrong answer can get me kicked to the streets and I will be forced to live with a liar. 

"Yes" I answer. 

Damnit Gene! Why would you say that! 

"I can be harmful, but I tend not to be" I answer again. 

Wow that sounds SO MUCH better! 

"And why is that?" Ben asks "Because I see you as family and you don't hurt family" I smile as my tail hits my nose "OW!" I yelp holding my nose "I CONTROL YOU!" I shout at my tail as Noah laughs. 

"Anyway" I say looking back at Noah and Ben. "Can we still be family if I'm different?" I ask with a slight smile "Yes Yes!" Noah shouts laughing "I guess..." Ben says "Thank you" I whisper "Besides look how cute you are!" Ben shouts "Hey don't touch the tail!" I shout.
