chapter seven: charity and a gloomy past
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

The figure in the freezing, damp bed stirred,

"No... n-no, they can't!"

kicking at his sheets,

"They can't... can't be dead!"

thrashing in his sleep until he woke up with a startle. Sweat dripped down Jimin's forehead and neck, his breathing uneven as he had woken up from a nightmare, his second time in the last few hours.

Two days have passed, deep circles began to form beneath his eyes from his lack of good sleep, Jimin's quivering body slowly calming down as the early morning sun gave him a clear head.

"Not again..." He sighed, running his hands through his sweat-drenched hair only to cringe. Jimin slipped out of the covers after stripping his bed of the dirty sheets, making his way to the bathroom for a shower.

The male turned on the faucet after removing his clothes, timid water pouring down onto his body, washing away his nerves and painful memories. The boy had been having dreadful dreams, even since Jungkook had left that morning.

Jimin wasn't sure what triggered those visions again, but he knew he needed to seek out Taehyung. Despite their tension right now, he was going to suffer through his trauma again and he needed someone who knew, someone who can understand him. He doubts he'd be able to tell Jungkook.

After scrubbing up and cleansing himself, Jimin watched as the water drained, before stepping out and drying his body with a towel.

He slipped into his clothes and walked out, standing still to look at the empty, dreary house around him. Jimin's mind strayed, suddenly he's searching for his phone. Hesitantly, a certain face filled his head, pressing on Jungkook's contact as he texted the words:

'Wanna hang out at the cafe today?'

After sending the text, Jimin typed in the next contact and stepped out of the house, waiting for the next few rings, smiling to himself as the person on the other end picked up the call.

"Tae-ah! Let's hang out at the cafe today. Bring Hoseok." Jimin grinned, breathing in the fresh air.

"What? Jimin-ah, it's early in the morning. What makes you think—"

"If you don't come, I'll just hang with Jungkook for a few hours. Are you okay with that?" Jimin chuckled. He heard a grumble on the other end.
