"Okay, so let me get this straight - Cami wanted her family's dark objects from Klaus, who wanted the little horse toy made of the white oak."

"Right."

"And Elijah tried to fight with Aya over the leadership of the Strix."

"Yes."

"But you intervented and now you're the leader."

"Damn right, I am."

"But you've been planning this whole thing with Elijah so you're actually on our side?"

"Yup."

"Phew. Sounds like you had a rough day." She huffed with her eyes wide before sipping her beer and leaning back against the couch.

"How come you were out of the loop? Thought Elijah at least would let you know about it." He asked curiously with his brows furrowed and his lips pursed.

"I've been at the bayou all day." She told with a shrug before lowering her voice. "They need someone to help them after.."

"Yeah." He nodded awkwardly at the mention of the recent death. "How's Hayley, by the way?"

"Grieving. Ish." She told with a heavy sigh as she stared at the lights of New Orleans shimmering as tiny spots in the distance from the many windows of the loft.

"'Ish'?"

"Well, you know Hayley. She's trying to suffer in silence instead of admitting she's a wreck." She pointed out solemnly.

"Sounds like her." He cracked a small smile, which she mirrored sadly. "And you? How are you doing?"

She parted her lips to speak, but closed it once realizing she doesn't have a specific answer to give. She was fine, for appearance, but she was still feeling guilty for - even if not deliberately - making Jackson the one who had to die on that dreadful day of their kidnap. Maybe that was why she preferred hiding herself in the bayou and spending more time with her old pack, instead of being caught up in the drama she assumed (and according to Marcel's description, was right about) would happen today, and now she was thankful for her gut feelings that saved her from having to go through everything he has just told her about.

She was concerned for Elijah, though, who she hadn't spoken to yet today, other than two short and dry phone calls that delivered her no information about his long and complicated day whatsoever. To say she's not offended that he hasn't thought about sharing his feelings with her today would be a lie, but then again - she really was glad to have a day off.
