"So, what's with the bandage on your eyes?" The young girl asked me. "A week or two ago I was on a mission and I got poison in my eyes that the enemy had thrown, we aren't sure if I'll be able to see again," I responded with a shrug.

"We have a poison specialist back at the village, I'm sure she would be willing to take a look." Gaara was too kind.

"Our poison specialist has been MIA for about a month now, id greatly appreciate it." I thanked him, a small blush on my cheeks.

"We are about a day out and it's a straight shot from here, lets see how far we can go before it's absolutely important to stop."

A rustling in my bag made me stop walking it jolted Kankuro back a bit.

"Yosuke has to pee." I let the small pup out of my bag, he stretched his small legs before walking behind a tree.

You've had a dog in there the whole time!?" Temari panicked, "I threw that bag at you! Is he okay??" I laughed a bit at how panicked she was over the whole thing.

"He likes to sleep in there, it's his favorite place. He's perfectly fine, I promise." She let out a sigh of relief as the dog came back scratching my leg telling me he wanted back up into my arms.

I squatted down to pick him up, Kankuro grabbed my arm helping me up before linking our arms back together. An unnecessary action.

I put the puppy on my head, I could feel Kankuro staring at me, "what?" I questioned him. "It's nothing."

We continued our walking until the sun had set. The ground was far too mushy to sleep on, we settled down high in the trees for the night.

Kankuro and Temari were snoring in unison, probably extra tired from missing last night's sleep.

I sat with my back to the tree, it was extremely late but I couldn't sleep thinking about earlier.

The branch I sat on shook as someone landed on it, "Can't sleep?" Gaara questioned sitting down beside me.

"Nope, just missing my family..." I sighed petting Yosuke while he slept in my lap. "Who is your family?" He questioned, I would have expected the brown hair and dog would have given it away immediately.

"I'm an Inuzuka, I believe you've all met my brother Kiba?" I laughed lightly. "Yes, he's saved Kankuro once or twice..." His tone told me he had a small smile on his face.

"How are you feeling about visiting the sand village for the first time?" He questioned, his tone was more serious than before. "I'm nervous... I absolutely hate sand." I giggled a bit. "Why is that?" He set whatever was on his back beside him. "I don't know, I just hate the feeling of it, especially when it gets in my shoes and such." He seemed to understand where I was coming from.

"I do hope you enjoy your time in our village, it's mostly made of sandstone and stone so you should be okay." I gave him a soft smile before deciding to rest up finally feeling tired.

In the morning we trudged forward, we didn't stop until we were at the sand village gates.

"What time is it?" I questioned, Kankuro yawned, "late. By the way, we are here." I nodded linking my arm back into his startling him. "I'm unfamiliar with the layout of your village, I'll be needing a guide until I can see again if I can at all." I joked a bit at the end.

"Granny will see you in the morning, for now, rest." Gaara's voice scared the crap out of me making me jump.

"My apologies." His voice didn't change.

"A room has been set up for you, rest up, and when you wake Kankuro will take you to see granny Chiyo." Gaara seemed to be the one who called the shots around here.

"Ow." I heard something hard hit Kankuro on the head, I assumed it was Temari.

I entered the room taking the pup from my head and putting my bag on the ground beside the floor.

Moments after falling asleep I woke up, I could feel the sun's rays on my face, the bandage on my eyes bugged me making me want to remove it early.

A hard knock at the door broke me from my silence, "come in," my voice was dry from not enough sleep and I hadn't bothered to change last night and I didn't feel like it right now.

"She's ready to see you." Gaara's voice rang through my ears. I gave a simple nod standing up from the bed.

I followed the sound of his footsteps like I had been this entire time, he guided me out of the building and into a different one not too far away.

He linked arms with me to help me up the stairs. "Kankuro was summoned here earlier, he should be inside." I nodded almost tripping on a stair.

The door crept open, Gaara led me inside. "Took you long enough," he mocked, it was followed by another "ow" making me snicker to myself.

"Come, sit on the table." Someone grabbed my arm guiding me somewhere, my hands brushed over a stone slab which I pushed myself onto.

I unwrapped the bandage from my eyes, it felt much better. I heard shuffling and then someone was standing in front of me examining my eyes.

After what felt like hours they walked away. "It's a rare poison, not so easily reversed." I heard things being moved around until the person came back, they pushed me back making me lay on the table.

"This should reverse it by basically drawing out the poison. Kankuro, you're gonna have to hold down her shoulders, this is gonna hurt."

And oh boy it did.
