I quietly closed the door leaving Temari's room, she was still sound asleep in her bed.
I wandered down the hall towards Kankuros room, I had no use for the puppets Granny gifted me but I knew he would be able to put them to good use.
I slowly opened his door expecting him to be asleep, he sat putting one of his many puppets back together.
I intended to just put the puppets on his table and leave for the leaf village without saying my goodbyes but I guess that wasn't going to happen.
He glanced in my direction and welcomed me in with a wave of his hand.
"Did you need something?" He continued working on his puppets without a second glance.
I led myself over to his table and sat myself down, the bag was tightly gripped in my hand.
"I'm no puppet master, I thought maybe you could put these guys to use..." I handed him the bag before getting up to leave but he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back down, "at least keep me company while I check these out."
I took my place on the ground but this time beside him, I knew I'd be going home today so it was do or die.
"Kankuro..." He looked at me, his makeup was off so this was an unusual sight. "Never mind." I waved my hands in front of my face trying to get his attention off of me.
"Well, you already got my attention so spit it out." He held a small screwdriver between his teeth while working on a left hand.
"Anyone... you're interested in?" I question trying to sound bored.
"Could be, why do you ask?" He took the screwdriver from his teeth to look at me, I had no idea where to go from here.
"Are you trying to confess or something?" He poked fun at me, he didn't realize he hit the nail right on the head.
"No, just curious to know." I lied, it sounded semi convincing.
"She's lovely, not from the sand village though." I genuinely couldn't tell if he was talking about me or someone else.
"I think you know her actually." He itched his chin trying to think if I did or not.
"Hope it works out for you, romance is gross." I laughed lightly.
"Oh your so fucking stupid." He kissed me Randomly making us both fall backward with a Thud.
We both started laughing at the position we wherein until the door creaked open and a happy scream was heard, we both knew it had to be Temari.
You'd think I would chase after her but that felt pointless, I knew it would get to Gaara and that's it.
"Should we-"
"Na"
"Honestly, I can't believe it took you that long to figure it out. The coin?" He questioned but I just gave a confused look.
"Gosh, thaught you were picking up on my hundreds of hints." He huffed sitting back up from the odd position we had fallen into.
"I don't know how you expected me to, we just constantly fought," I shrugged trying to think back to the coin and what he was talking about.
Then it hit me.
That night he used his chakra strings to make the coin land on its center.
"You pervert!" I yelled with a red face, he just stuck out his tongue while pulling down under one of his eyes.
"I'm also good at pretending to be asleep!" He nodded confidently before running out of the room for dear life, that damn perv!
I chased after him, he was peeping that morning I changed in front of him thinking he was sound asleep.
It sucks I leave today.
I gave up chasing him and went to find Temari who was waiting on her bed with the biggest smile I had ever seen.
My face was a dark red as she cheered telling me how she knew it was coming and how she predicted all of this.
She once again tried to plan our wedding day.
I laughed at her before remembering I would be leaving in a few hours if not sooner.
I started packing everything up that I would need for my journey back to the village hidden in the leaves, me and Kankuro were not official nor would we be before I left, just because we felt the same it didn't mean we were ready to take the step to date just yet.
I put Yosukes vest on him getting ready to go, I also put on my bags and everything ready to go.
Temari and Kankuro guided me to the gates of the sand village so I could start my long journey home. Gaara sent his best wishes but he was far too behind on work to say his goodbyes in person.
With a final hug to the two, I was off with Yosuke right behind me. I adjusted the bags on my back as I continued my travels. I smiled remembering this morning, the kiss was amazing... It was also my first.
I was too stuck in my mind to pay much attention to where I was going, Yosuke guided me back on the track so we wouldn't get lost.
Exactly the reason I didn't want a relationship.
We wouldn't be official for quite some time, it would remain much like Shikamaru and Temari are.
I continued my long walk after a short break for food, Yosuke was hungry having not eaten breakfast yet.
