Dylan's POV
I woke up due to nausea and really bad headache. As I was about to reach the bathroom, I felt dizzy and loss my balance but fortunately I grabbed on the small cabinet near it and collided with some items. Ashley and I's picture frame fell down causing the glass frame to break.
"Shit." As much as I wanted to reach for it, my nausea got the better of me so I raced towards the bowl to empty my stomach. My 'morning' sickness doesn't only happen on morning but even in the afternoon or evening.
However, no matter how much I suffered, just the thought of Ashley and I's baby growing inside me took all the pain and suffering again.
"Dy?" It was Andrea. In Ashley's absence, she was the one who looked after me.
"In the bathroom." I answered back.
"Oh my... what happened?" She must have seen the broken frame.
"I felt dizzy..." I managed to answer before throwing up again.
"Are you okay?" She held my hair as I continued to vomit. I could already taste the acid from my mouth.
"Okay now."
"Great. Let me just clean the glasses and I'll call you when it's okay."
"Thanks." I brushed my teeth and gurgle with mouthwash... Twice. I wonder what time Ashley's gonna be back. I missed her a lot already. I took a sit at the toilet bowl as I waited for Andrea.
Andrea's POV
As Anika took her nap, I then went to check on Dy. Ashley took some time off to attend to Mikey's event at school.
Poor Dy, she was one of those not so fortunate ones who experienced a real hard time during pregnancy. I was lucky that I didn't suffer from any 'morning' sickness or even weird cravings. Dan was also so thankful for that. However, I did suffer more than thirty hours in labor. On other hand, every pain, sacrifices and sufferings were all worth it once you heard your child's first cry.
After I cleaned the broken glasses and ensuring that none were left, I helped Dy back to the bed as I went back down to cook something for lunch.
Dan's POV
I yawned while staring at my monitor. The intruder that had been pestering us had not made any moves since the last attack where I almost caught him or her or them.
Working underground as a hacker was much more interesting than this but my life had changed since I started to build a family with Andrea. I wouldn't want to lie to my child if she asked me what I do for a living.
My phone rang with the unique ring tone that alerted me whom the caller. It was uncle Al. "Hel-" I wasn't even able to greet him properly when he interrupted me.
"Dan, there's a situation on Mikey's school. I need you to go home and distract Dy. Her condition's sensitive and I wouldn't want her to worry."
My eyes widened as he spoke. "What situation?"
"I don't have the details yet. I'll keep you on the loop. Go home and make sure my cub doesn't find out."
"Okay uncle." I stood up, packed my things and drove straight home while thinking of a way to distract Dylan. I couldn't lie to her, she'll know when I'm lying or keeping something up, so I hoped she's still asleep of resting.
Ashley's POV
Tension in the room was rising. The shooter had become more and more agitated as the clock ticks per second. He kept pacing while pointing the gun at random. He became more restless when he heard sirens after the shots were fired.
