Dylan's POV
I groaned as I felt my head ached like it was being split open. Feeling a warm liquid with irony smell coming from my head, I used my arm and confirmed that it was blood. "What the hell just happened." I closed my eyes again when I my vision blurred and I felt dizzy.
The last couple of hours of my life was blank. I can't remember anything except the fact that I was pregnant. "Oh no..." Trying to move my other hand was a little difficult, and opening my eyes made my head hurts more but I have to make sure that my baby's okay.
It was then that I realized that my left arm was tied up. "You don't have to worry. Your still carrying your baby."
"Where am I? What do you want?" I tried weakly.
"You don't have to worry about that. Just rest and think about the baby. You're only allowed to live because of it." Then I heard the door closed.
"If you want money you can get it!" I yelled. "Any amount you want!"
Ashley's POV
"What do you mean she's here? I'm in the E.R. since my shift started and don't you think I would know if my wife's been taken here?" I yelled at Peter, Dylan's driver/bodyguard.
"But the ambulance said that she'll be taken here." He replied.
"Are you sure this hospital?"
"Yes! One of the EMT's told me." I suddenly panicked by the mention of EMT.
"What happened? Why didn't you ride with her?"
"They didn't allow me. Joan and I followed as much as we could but the ambulance's really fast and we don't have any sirens." He explained. "She fainted at the jewelry store. So they called an ambulance."
"What is she doing in the jewelry store!" I yelled. My mind was overflowing of things that could happen to my wife. Working in the hospital, I've seen the worst that human can do and somehow people always trump one another. "Explain everything from the start.
"She had her wedding ring removed. Her fingers became swollen and it's hurting her so I drove her there. Then she went to the ladies room. Joan went with her then she fainted so we called ambulance and the EMT told us that they are going to take her here."
"She's obviously not here!" I felt my knees weakened as I burst in tears.
"What happened?" Kyle and Maggie turned came to my rescue.
"Dylan... My wife's missing." I whispered.
"What happened?" Peter explained everything to them as Maggie tried to comfort me.
"Okay. Let's not jump into conclusion." Kyle said. He, Dylan and I became closer after their little reunion. I don't feel awkward with him anymore and my little crush on him had been buried under deep sea. "Maggie, take care of her. I'll have the interns call every hospitals in the area."
I took a deep and calming breath to clear my mind. Panicking won't help and if there's someone that could find my wife, it was Dan. "I need to call someone."
Dan's POV
It's a little slow today in the office, there's not much to do since we just completed our upgrades and there's no current trespassers in our system since I literally burned the last intruder.
My phone rang and I instantly noticed the caller tune. "Hey Ash, anything I can help?"
"Dan..." She started with a sob. "Can you locate my wife."
She seemed crying... Dylan has confided me before on her fear of loosing Ashley to someone but as far as I knew, they already fixed that up. Well... maybe it's they just had a misunderstanding. "Okay, let me trace her cell." With few strokes of keys, I tried to trace her phone but there's no signal. "That's weird." I whispered to myself. Then I tried to trace the GPS in her ring. "Her phone's off but she's in jewelry store, probably to buy you something?"
"No Dan... She was there to remove her ring because her finger's hurting. Then she fainted and was carried to the hospital using ambulance but the ambulance's not here."
"Let me try her implant." Years ago, the implant only contained medical records, name of contacts and important notes about the patients. But a breakthrough in Kramer's Pharmaceuticals made it possible to add a GPS. It was one of the most top selling technology until now especially to the rich people. Oh fuck. Her implant's not sending any signals. It must be fried or something. "Her last know location was outskirt of 5th avenue, near the park and go."
"Okay. I'll be there."
"Don't move or touch anything. Also, call Nick and have her meet us there. I'll call her dad and Nica."
"Okay."
Nick's POV
"Hey Lex, Ashley called. She sounded in distress and asked us to meet at Park and Go at the corner of 5th avenue." I told my partner after I received Ashley's call.
"I'll tell the Captain." She went toward's the captain's office while I got the car in the parking.
We arrived first and waited at the entrance. Then two black sedan parked and Ashley came running from the second car. "Ash! What happened."
"Dylan's missing. This is her last known location."
"What are we looking for exactly? And are you sure she's here?"
"Where looking for abandoned ambulance." It was Dan who answered, "I'm confident to conclude that my cousin's been abducted." She stated firmly.
"Okay then... Let's move." I noticed the same group of people that came to the rescue in the ship roughly two years ago came with her. I almost forgot that Dylan's family was one of the most influential in the world.
Dan's POV
"We found it! It's in the third floor." I heard from the radio of my guard.
"Tell them not to touch anything." I ordered and then called Nick.
Nick's POV
"They found something in the third floor." I shouted at Lexi and we ran towards the ramp.
When we got there, The Kramer's private army were already there and secured the area for us. Normally, I get pissed off when private investigators or private army hinder our investigation but since they were all cooperating then it should be okay by me.
"No one touched anything." Dan assured me.
"Okay." I took a pair of gloves and gently opened the door. It was empty. "Clear."
"They must have changed vehicle." By this time, Ashley's bursting in tears.
"Dan, Ashley. Tell us everything."
"Allow me Detective." One of the men in suit said. I was about to blow him off for thinking that he's going to hide cover something but I was wrong. "I'm Peter. Joan and I was assigned to keep Mrs. Dylan safe. We went to the jewelry store to have her ring remove because it was hurting her fingers. Then she fainted inside so we called an ambulance. When we arrived at the hospital, there's no sign of her so her cousin Mrs. Dan tracked her last known location here.
"Her phone's off. And her ring's at the store. I tried to use the GPS implanted together with her medical records but it was fried. This is her last know location." Dan explained.
"Okay, here's what we should do." I turned to my partner. "Lexi, can you tell the captain about this? I know it wasn't homicide but if you explain how high profile this case is then she might let us." Then I turned into Peter. "Take me to the jewelry store." Then I turned to Dan. "Take Ashley home and do whatever you need to do." I'm sure no matter what I told her, she'll do whatever it needed to find her cousin.
"Let's move. Time's wasting." Lex shouted. "We have a pregnant friend to find."
