Tine's Pov

"Have a nice day", I smiled at a customer before signalling Pear to take my place at the counter as I was really tired. I made my way to the kitchenette and washed my face. My mind was more than occupied by Sarawat, an act very ironical to my belief that I had mastered the art of ignoring him. Almost a week and I still couldn't normalise the fact that I had kissed him. No, let me rephrase it. Sarawat had kissed me. I just responded a little too passionately. Like a hungry animal. But how could anybody blame me? You don't expect a sunflower to turn away from the sun. He was my sun. So when I didn't find him beside me in morning, I knew the darkness had arrived again. I fucked it up. I thought I'd rather not see him ever then see him leaving again.

"Hey you okay?" Pear handed me a towel.

I nodded. Just when I was about to step out, I froze in my track seeing the person approaching me.

"S-Sarawat?"

His breaths were quick and he looked serious.

He said in small voice, "We need to talk."

I and Pear exchanged glance. She was worried as I had already told her about that night.

I shook my head in a no. I was half mad and half afraid. Mad that he didn't stay the night even after seeing how fragile I was. And afraid that he'd make me want more. Want all of it all over again.

He walked a step closer and said in an almost pleading tone, "please. I'm begging you."

I swallowed the bitter bile forming up in my throat. I couldn't see him like that. I caught a sight of Pear who seemed to soften by Sarawat's words. She grabbed my hand tightly and whispered, "I'm going back to counter. Call me if you need anything."

I nodded while Sarawat was still staring at me with his low-key angry face.

"Listen Sarawat", I said before he could convince me into anything stupid, "that night was a mistake. Nothing's possible between us. Please stop bothering me."

"You don't mean it Tine."

"I do mean it okay? I really want you to stop..."

My heart skipped a beat. Did he just..?

I mumbled, "what did you say?"

He started walking towards me, I away from him.

"You tell me Tine, did I say something wrong?"

He had cornered me to the wall and now I was leaning against it while he kept coming closer. Did his memories return? How so suddenly? But then, I realised something.

I said, "that call from the lady...it was you."

"Why did you lie to me Tine? Why even you?"

His face was inches away from mine. This dangerous proximity was robbing me off my senses.

I stuttered, "I-I didn't want to hurt you."

"By chasing me away?"

"What could I have done? Tell you that I am the man who you left for a girl who by the way, is now your wife AND the mother of your child you love so much?"

His eyes widened in fear. It seemed his memories had not yet returned.

He stuttered, "w-what do you mean I left you?"
