" Aren't you ready yet? How long!" a rough masculine voice bloomed from the other end of the door.
Shit!Almost there!
I removed the screws of the huge window panel carefully without making noise.
" This should do... Naira ready? " Aditi tightened the two long ropes tied to the window railing that ran parallel all the way down the building.
" Yeah... Where is Dhruv?" I asked as I held on to one of the ropes.
" He is waiting for us at the entrance. Now hold on to the rope tightly and slide down... Let's elope from the wedding babes! " she winked at me before sliding down.
God! This girl can never be serious!
" Save my bones. " With a deep breath I slid down, letting gravity do it's work and ended up on my back.
Argh... It aches!
" Will you stop laughing and help me!?" I glared at my best friend.
" Sorry " she chuckled and helped me to stand on my feet.
" I hate this bridal outfit! Damn it's too heavy..." I cursed as I held the fleets of my long lehenga before running towards the entrance.
" Come on ladies! Jump in fast! " Dhruv waved at us from his jeep.
He gave me a hand and I smiled at him thankfully. He helped me settle on the passenger seat beside him as Aditi jumped into the back seat.
" You Idiots! The bride isn't here! "
Oh, No!
" Search her ! Don't let her escape! "
" Let's go. " Dhruv started the engine and we drove away. I heaved a sigh of relief as the goons were no longer in our sight. The sibling duo smiled at me as I relaxed on my back.
Aditi and Dhruv are more than my best friends. They are my family. Only family after losing my parents in a car accident.
Dhruv is two years older than me and Aditi. Dhruv's father, Mr. Dixit was my dad's best friend. He took me in at the age of five, after my parents death. I grew up in their house, with them. They embraced me from the very first day. We went to school together, did our graduation in the same college, basically we were together in everything, be it pulling a prank or crying in each other's arms.
Their mother, Mrs. Dixit died giving birth to Aditi, she had never seen her mother. She loves her brother a lot, so does he. They fight over little things but always stood by each other. Mr. Dixit was a gem of a person, loved me like his daughter, treated all three of us equally. Whatever I am today, it's because of them!
Dhruv is the CEO of a leading firm, Marco Architects and Designers, that's where we work. After Mr. Dixit's devastating death three years ago, Dhruv took over and he's a wonderful leader.
