" Congratulations Mr and Mrs Oberoi! "

Mrs. Oberoi.

It sounded so raw and unfamiliar.

We are a legally wedded couple now.

The diamond in my wedding ring glitters like a fragment of captured light, bright and unwavering against the quiet tremor in my hand. It seals a marriage arranged in deals, yet the gold band warms slowly to my skin as if trying to belong.

I gently trace the stone with my thumb, still processing how my life flipped altogether in a mere few hours.

From single to married, Basu to Oberoi, Miss to Mrs!!

We were outside the registrar office waiting for the lawyer to finish up the paperwork while Kartik had excused himself to attend a call.

" I will miss you Naira. How will I live without you." Aditi sulked.

" Oh oh melodrama! It's not like I am going to some alien planet. Not even a different city, just shifting to a different house that's it. Moreover I have to see this face everyday at work and bear with your tantrums, God !" I face palmed and she glared at me. We broke into laughs.

" I love you " we said in unison, sharing a hug.

I noticed Dhruv looking at us with a smile but I didn't miss the worried look on his face

" I will be fine Dhruv " I smiled at him, holding his hands in assurance.

" Are you happy with this decision? "

" Only time has the answer." I said.

" I hope there never comes a day where you will regret this decision Naira... " Dhruv caressed my head with a smile.

I too hope so.

" You better make sure your best friend keeps my best friend happy Mr. Arjun Rathore. If he mess with her, he will have consequences!" Aditi warned Arjun who rolled his eyes at her.

" He's family and now Naira is part of the family. Worry not, Ms. Dixit. " Arjun smirked at my best friend, who returned a glare.

" I'll be there for you Naira, Always. " Dhruv took me into his embrace, dropping a feather kiss on the top of my head.

" I know. " I relaxed in his arms.

" I'll miss you both " All three of us were wrapped in each other's arms, whispering goodbyes until we meet again.

In the next hour, we reached the airport and boarded our respective flights.

The flight was long and sleep was far away from my eyes. But that didn't seem to be the case with the man I married, who slept like a log.
