About a year later...
"She's really beautiful, Harleen."
I'm washing up dishes, "Thank you, Ma."
"The name suits her." Ma says, smiling at me.
"It does, doesn't it?" I turned around and smiled back, "I always loved the name Lucy."
The baby was definitely my child, her tight little curls of blonde hair on her small head came from me. Lucy shifts a little in Ma's gentle arms, sleeping her peaceful slumbers. I turn back around and washed my hands quickly after laying the last dish.
"I'm just glad you were able to find a nice home for you to raise her."
"Well a lot of people wanted to help out after the breakup with J."
"I'm sorry he wasn't the right one, honey." Ma says, giving me a side hug.
I filled a wine glass halfway with some white wine. Ma and I walked out to the living room, I take a sip of wine as I sit down on the couch, scratching Bruce's head.
"Well do you at least have him come over to visit her?" Ma asked.
"I offered him to come over a couple of times. He hasn't gotten back to me about that." I sighed. I didn't know what I expected when I had called him to tell him he could come over to visit. That's his child, my little Lucy. Yet, I'm afraid, he'll never show up.
"Well he should be getting back to you, that's an awful father."
"Well I have much experience with a terrible father." I said whilst sipping more wine.
"I'm sorry, Harleen. We all just have some bad significant others in our lives sometimes."
A few knocks on the front door makes Ma and I look confused at each other, Bruce the hyena jumps off the couch growling and yapping. I shushed him as I stood up and walked over at the door, Lucy starts crying. Oh great, a crying baby and a yapping hyena. I opened the door, only to have the stench of cigarettes and smoke fill my nostrils, I coughed and covered my nose with the collar of my shirt.
"Put that out, right now!" I hissed.
"Fine, whatever." J says, dropping the cigarette on the ground and stepping on it.
"I see you're smoking now, disgusting."
"And you're still an alcoholic." He says, eye-balling the wine glass in my left hand.
"I hope you're not just here to make fun of me."
"I'm here to see the baby of course." He shoves past me then notices Ma. "Oh um you must be Mrs. Quinzel."
"Yeah and you must be the clown my daughter almost married."
"Ha, I like her." He chuckled, then he sees her. Lucy, I mean. His expressions went soft, he walks up to Ma slowly, "May I?" He asked, holding out his arms.
Ma looks at me to see if it was okay with me, I nodded. Ma handed Lucy over to Joker's arms. He looks down at Lucy with admiration, he slowly sat down on the couch. I sat down next to him.
"Is this really our creation?" He looks at me, his eyes are as soft as I remembered them looking.
"Her name is Lucy."
"Lucy..." He's still awestruck.

"So you cut your hair short again, I like it." J says.
Ma had left to go home, her home only an hour away from mine. The closest I could get it between Wayne Manor and her place. My Ma is still confused as to what J and I are, relationship-wise.
