I bit my lip nervously, "Yes, it's me..."

"You have a name, Beautiful?" I walked closer to the table, his face revealed clearer.

"Harleen Quinzel, Doctor Harleen Quinzel,"

"Say, do your friends call you Harley?" His smile grew bigger.

"No, just Harleen." I answered.

"Harley Quinn has a nice ring, doesn't it?"

"I guess."

"Don't guess, be positive, Harley."

"I believe so, Joker."

"Ha." His mind was in a different place, crazier than before.

"What?"

"Why is a beautiful girl like you working here at Arkham?"

"I'm beautiful?"

"Is that a joke? Of course, those blue eyes, perfect smile, oh that smile! Hahaha,"

"Well thank you."

As I continued to talk with the Joker each day, our love grew. Until the one day he asked a question that I've never expected.

"I brought you a kitty!" I said while holding a beanie baby kitten before Joker.

"You always know how to make me smile, Harley." Joker said while grinning. "Harley, I have a question,"

"Yes, ask away," I smiled, hoping that would be the moment he could ask me to escape Arkham with him and runaway together.

"I need a gun."

"A gun." I repeated in concern, his smile turned upward wickedly.

---------------------------------------------------

I should've known it would be bad to give the man a phone and a gun, but if I didn't do that unexpectedly wrong thing that day, I wouldn't be who I am today.

Next thing I knew, Joker was holding me down on a medical bed. I struggled as his men buckled down the straps around me. Joker faces me from above with two shockers in his hands.

"What are you going to do? You going to kill me Mr. J?" I urged delightfully.

"Huh? What?" His voice answered. "Oh I'm not going to kill you, I'm just going to hurt you really really bad." I smiled.

"Well I can take it." I said.

He shocked me then I passed out. I awoke hours later with the straps on the medical bed I laid on off. I sat up slowly, then looked around. My head didn't even hurt. I just felt an urge to find my man. As I wandered around the Asylum, it was silent. No living being around, not even Melody at the front desk. My heels click clacked amongst the floor as I continued my way through the building. I opened the doors with both of my white palms. There I saw him, leaning against his purple Lamborghini.

"J!" I squealed as I ran up to him and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Harley." He said through a glaring smile.

"What's wrong?"

"Our process didn't work." He said sadly.

"What do you mean?"

"You didn't change. You don't love me, Harls."

"I do love you." I answered, pushing my reply to him so he could catch on.

"Prove it."

"How?"

"I have a little mission for you."

"What is it?"

"You have to take a gun to the mayor's head." He said through a toothy grin.

I stood there in shock. I knew he was crazy but not this insane. Then I answered;

"When?"
