A light suddenly appears in my vision. J had just turned on the lights to see what the fuss was about. His eyes goggled with shock looking between the two beings on the floor of the kitchen.
At this point, I stood up on my shaking legs and faced Bats with my baseball bat. Until I realized he wasn't wearing his mask...
Instead I was facing the familiar billionaire of Gotham, Bruce Wayne. I dropped my bat and backed away slowly towards J. Joker hugs me close, still shocked of what he just saw. Until he spoke at last;
"B-Bruce Wayne is Bats?"
"J..." I started.
"Yeah I am... Shocked?" The filter that Batman used to make his voice deeper was removed. So he only just sounded like the average man talking.
"You were telling me that I was fighting the billionaire of our city this whole time?!" Joker bursts out.
"To be honest, Batsy, I just want to say that I'm a big fan... I named my hyena after you." I say as I point my hand towards the snoozing lump in the corner of the living room.
Bruce Wayne's scratched and perfectly structured jawline looks over to the hyena's slumbering groans. "So, you two are back together I see." He says as his eyes looked between J and I.
"Yeah, we are. What about it?" Joker grumbled as he laid his arm around my shoulders.
"It just means that there will be trouble once more from you clowns."
"Bat- I mean Mr. Wayne, I thought you quit crime-fighting. What changed your mind?" I said I laid my bat down on the kitchen island.
"He did what?" Joker basically screeched, I covered my ears with my pale palms when he said that.
"Yeah I quit fighting Gotham's most juvenile villains. It started hurting my back and stress just came over. But I heard that Joker's crimes were going down so I assumed something was going on."
At this time, Mistah J's face was throwing me off. He never usually gets mad at Batman, but it looked like he wanted to smack him. I stepped aside in case something was about to happen.
"Get out, Bats." J says as he picks up my bat from the island. He points it directly at Bruce Wayne's face.
"What?" Batman blurts out, obvious shock comes across his serious expression as he didn't see this coming.
"I said OUT!" Joker yells out. "GET OUT!" He says as he stomps closer and closer to Bats, cornering him near the open window that he obviously climbed through. I had remembered closing that window before heading to bed.
Bruce Wayne finally turns and hurried himself out the window, shooting his grappling hook onto the nearest building. Joker drops the baseball bat onto the couch and rushed over to the window, locking it tightly before turning and heading back to bed as if this whole thing never happened. I stood shockingly at what I just witnessed. I looked around me, the apartment was a god damn mess. I decided to start cleaning the spilled espresso and shattered china amongst the kitchen floor and counter. I placed my bat in its original spot before heading back to bed, trying my best not to elbow or scoot to close to J. As I laid down, I felt him roll over to me and cuddled close.
"I'm sorry you had to witness that, Harls." He says as I hear him take a whiff of the back of my hair. "He just doesn't understand that we've changed." I turn over to face him.
"It's fine, Puddin'" I say with a slight smirk. "It happens sometimes." He places his hand on my cheek, smiles, then kisses me on the tip of my nose.
We cuddled close until slumber took over our bodies. But that day will forever remain locked in my memories.
