30 - Hawkins Reunion

I stood on the doorstep as the memories flooded through my mind. I played on that swing set by the tree. I drew with chalk on this very sidewalk. I ate ice pops with my best friends on this bench.

"Hello girls" Liv's mom opened her arms for a hug.

"Kelly!" I welcomed her into a big hug. She was like my aunt that I never had. My parents were only children too, so I never had the benefit of Aunt's or Uncle's.

"This is Yasmine, Moon, Sam, and sarah." I introduced them so they didn't have to deal with that awkward first greetings thing.

We took our bags and brought them into the basement where we would be staying. They had the coolest basement. There were games, a kitchen, anything you could imagine really.

"LIV!" I ran up to her giving her a huge hug.

"I missed you so much!" We said in unison.

She greeted me normally, but I could tell something was off. I ignored it for the time being and we all got to doing the normal girl sleepover stuff. Although, Sam and sarah were also doing schoolwork because they were afraid they would fall behind too much on their precious grades. We played truth or truth for most of the time before dinner. Since everyone was new to Liv, we didn't want to jump straight into the dare part just yet.

After we ate dinner, we had Chinese food, Kelly pulled me aside.

"So when I told you to bring some friends I'd assume you would have brought that new pretty boyfriend too! Or ex-boyfriend was it? I can't keep up these days." She let out a soft laugh.

"Oha! So I take it Liv as tried to keep you up with the drama." She nodded answering my question.

"Yes of course! I heard you and Alexa were having issues? Liv didn't tell me that one, but I overheard Alexa on the phone. I didn't want to assume everything she was saying was true because it didn't sound like you."

"Oh god. She has been making lies up to try and ruin my life. She joined the karate dojo I was in and then this new sensei came and tried to manipulate all of us and he succeeded with it except for me. I left and went with my old sensei, but everyone else stayed including Alexa and my ex boyfriend Hawk. He changed, so I got rid of him, but I still want to be with him, the old him. I just don't know what to do, but there is no way Alexa can be saved. I can't be around her anymore. She's lost." A tear let down my face. All of this has really taken a toll on my mental health.

"Oh honey I'm sorry. It seems like you have been doing everything right except one thing. Never give up on Alexa. She's your best friend whether you like to believe it or not, she is your soulmate. No matter how hard it get's you keep fighting for her, fighting for Hawk. Fight until there truly isn't any fight left to fight." She wrapped me in a hug and said these words into my ear.

Maybe she was right. Maybe Alexa isn't gone. and even if she is, i have to hope we can reunite one day. and even if we didn't, at least i knew i never closed my heart out to the idea and i did the best i could. After we were done with our talk I headed out to see the girls again. Liv was around the corner from where we were talking and wrapped me in a hug as well without saying anything. I guess she was listening and everything I said cleared up some things she may have believed from Alexa. That is probably why she was acting weird before, but it was all good now.

It was the next day and today we were supposed to hang out with james, our friends, and his new girlfriend Elle. This is probably going to be very awkward since I am his ex girlfriend that he was in love with.

We all went to james house because his house was the hangout spot. Elle was actually pretty cool.

Time has passed and it has been the two weeks of our vacation and it was time to head back. I was so excited to see my friends again. To see Hawk again. We said our goodbyes and got on the road.
