Falling For A Soon To Be Rockstar

Walking into my first hour life skills class half an hour late was slightly embarrassing. People stared at the bandage on my nose and quietly laughed as I walked by to the only open seat. Just my luck that it happens to be right next to that gorgeous ass and his friends. Wait, why did I just say gorgeous? I mean yeah he's good looking with his green eyes and caramel brown hair that falls into his face in all the right places. And he does have a nice body, with his toned arms and well defined stomach. On top of all that he's the lead singer in a band that'll most likely get signed. It's all a total turn on. I have got to stop with these thoughts or I'm gonna get sucked in like every other hormone-crazed girl at this school.

"See something you like Maddie?" Alex asked with a smirk adorning his full lips that seem to be drawing me in. I hadn't realized that I was staring at him like some crazy obsessed girl. What's going on with me, I'm supposed to hate him aren't I? Then why do I find him really attractive?

"You wish Alex!" Really, you wish, that's my great comeback. I must be going soft looking into those beautiful green eyes. No snap out of it Maddie, remember what he did to your nose. He didn't even have the audacity to apologize. Plus he's the biggest player you know.

He leaned in close to my ear and I could feel his hot breath on my neck. I shivered under the close proximity, "It's ok Maddie, I get it. You think I'm hot. Who wouldn't?" Then he did something that I didn't expect at all, he pulled away and kissed my cheek lingering there for a few seconds to long. I could feel the blood rise to my cheeks as he pulled away. Damn him, I could feel the death glares of every girl in the room, but the biggest one of them all was from Veronica. Alex's current on again off again girlfriend. Oh shit! I'm officially screwed...thank you very much Alex!

When the bell finally rang, I practically ran out of the room. I needed to hurry and get to my next class before Veronica could catch me and kill me. Personally I didn't feel much like dying today. I managed to make it to lunch without anything else going wrong. Alyssa was sitting at our usual table with much to my surprise Tammie.

"MADDIE! MADDIE LOOK OVER HERE! WE SAVED YOU A SEAT BEST FRIEND!" Alyssa shouted across the cafeteria. Damn she's always so loud. Great now everyone is staring and I feel like the center of attention. I could hear the whispers and laughs about my nose. I slowly made my way over to them.

"Hey guys, what's up? Oh and Alyssa was it necessary to yell across the cafeteria, I knew where you'd be sitting. And Tammie, what was up with you this morning? Why did you ignore us?" Alyssa just shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes at me with a smile on her face. Typical answer when she does something crazy and has no reason.

"Maddie I'm not sure what you're talking about. I didn't ignore you guys, I just didn't see you." Tammie stated. Was she kidding me, how could she not see us. I voiced my thoughts.

"Tammie you are such a liar. How did you not see us? We were right in front of you and you just turned and walked away. You even made eye contact with me so don't give me that crap." I was beyond pissed that she would lie to us like that. She's been Alyssa and I's best friend since freshman year.

"Like I said Maddie, I didn't see you." She rolled her eyes at me.

"You know Maddie is right Tammie. Why are you lying to us? Did we do something wrong to you, because we all hung out all summer with no problems. So please elaborate what the hell your problem is." Alyssa demanded. Damn I think she's more pissed than me. And that takes a lot to do.

"Fine you want the truth?" We shook our heads. "You both are such an embarrassment to be around. It's no wonder I'm not popular with you two as my friends. Seriously Maddie you're a klutz and nerd with glasses way too big for your face. Your fat and I mean come on, who listens to that punk rock shit anymore. And Alyssa you're loud and obnoxious. And your silly little crush on Matt is pathetic. Like a boy that hot that plays bass in a band with Alex would ever like you. Move on from your silly little dreams. I'm gonna start hanging out with Veronica and her group. Did you hear that she offered me a spot on the varsity cheerleading team? And you wanna know what, I accepted. I'll finally be able to get closer to Alex and make him fall for me. "

I can't believe she just said that. Alyssa looks on the verge of tears and I'm ready to slap that hoe. She's supposed to be our friend, one of the three musketeers and now she's ditching us for that bitch Veronica. Is she delusional? Doesn't she realize that Veronica is just using her to for some dirty deed and that when she's done with her, she'll toss her aside like last week's garbage? And what's this she wants to get closer to Alex? She needs to wake up and smell the fresh air. Alex is dating Veronica.

That's it; it's time for a reality check. I got up and walked up to her and slapped her across the face. I heard Alyssa gasp and the entire cafeteria go quiet.

"Are you fucking stupid Tammie? I mean really, do you honestly think that that slut really wants to be friends with you? She'll use you then drop you like a hat when she's done. And as far as you wanting to get closer to Alex, why would you want that. One he's dating Veronica and if you think she's gonna back off so you can have him, then you are sadly mistaken. She's more likely to rip your throat out and feed you to the wolves then let that happen. Two, he's the biggest player in the whole school and you're more likely to end up with a broken heart than anything. You know what, I don't care anymore. Go be a cheerleader and try and win that ass's heart, but when you get hurt and hit rock bottom, don't come crawling back to us. We won't be here for you." I grabbed Alyssa's hand and walked out the cafeteria, but not without noticing a very smug Veronica comforting a sobbing Tammie and a hurt looking Alex frowning at me from the corner of the room.

I pulled Alyssa out to the parking lot and headed to my car. I didn't care if there were still two classes left; we were skipping and going to my house. My mom's at work so it won't matter if we're there.

"Alyssa are you going to be ok? I know you were closer to her than I was. And I probably shouldn't have hit her, but she seriously pissed me off. I couldn't control my temper any longer."

Alyssa just rolled her eyes and laughed at me. "Yeah Maddie I'll be fine, she had it coming to her. No one calls me obnoxious and gets away with it. I just wish I was the one to hit her."

I laughed and went to put a movie in while she went and grabbed the popcorn and soda. After I took Alyssa home, I got started on math homework, since it was my only class that assigned me any it didn't take long. When it was finally time to head to bed, all I could think about was stupid Alex and the hurt expression on his face. I wonder what caused it. It was probably another fight between him and Veronica. Not my problem I thought before drifting off to a dreamless state of sleep.
