I ran my hands through my hair and sighed. I was so confused right now. You go your whole life knowing someone and they never acknowledge your presence. And then one day out of the blue, their kissing you in a way that screams I want to rip your clothes off and take you on the floor right here right now. I just don't understand the way a guy's mind works. They need to come with manuals.
Alex was really something else that's for sure. And what's this business that he's not really all those things people say about him. That's total bull. He is a jerk! Plain and simple and if he keeps saying otherwise, I'll have to hit him.
I need to find Alyssa; she'll know what to do. I mean I can't just ignore the fact that he kissed me. Could I? No I couldn't. That kiss made me feel something I've never felt before, and that fact alone scared the living shit out of me.
I walked out of the choir room and headed towards my locker to grab my first hour books. Of course this class was going to be slightly awkward since we have assigned seating and I'm stuck next to Alex. I'm honestly contemplating skipping and just hanging out in the library or something. I've never really been able to handle awkward or embarrassing moments.
Though if I skipped first hour, Alex would most likely jump to conclusions and assume he's the reason I'm not there. And yeah he would be the only reason I didn't show up, but there's no reason to give him the satisfaction of knowing he's made me feel completely confused.
Alright Maddie, remember to breathe and relax. It's time to man up and show this player he can't get under your skin anymore. I just need to ignore this weird nagging feeling in the pit of my stomach and I'll be ok.
I walked into the classroom and walked to the back with my head held high. So far so good, oh look he isn't even here yet. Now I can be the one that ignores him when he shows up instead of the other way around. Two minutes later and the final late bell rings and Alex still hasn't shown up. Hmmm, I wonder if he's off kissing other girls the way he did me. For some reason though, this thought made me feel jealous and angry. I didn't want him kissing other girls; I only wanted it to be me. Ok Maddie, you need to get a grip. He has a girlfriend for pete's sake.
Suddenly the classroom door opened and in walked Alex with his famous smirk very apparent on his face. He walked up to the teacher and handed her the late slip then proceeded to walk back towards his seat; the whole time staring directly into my eyes.
When he finally sat down, he decided to sit sideways in the seat, facing me instead of the front of the room. I peaked at him from the corner of my eye and he was still staring at me. It was slightly uncomfortable, but there wasn't much I could do. It's not like I could switch seats and honestly i didn't want some other girl sitting next to him. Plus I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing he was making me uncomfortable.
Finally Mrs. Marks spoke calling Alex's attention to her and not me.
"Alright class, for the next month we are going to be doing a group project. You will be in groups of two and your objective is to find out as much about each other as you can. Rather it be personal things, or their favorite food, it doesn't matter. Once you have that information, I want each member in the group to make a PowerPoint presentation about your partner. Include pictures, music, and color. Most importantly make it interesting, at least for my sake. Remember people, I have to grade them. Does everyone understand?" She asked. The whole class nodded and she smiled.
