Vicky's POV

🎶🎶

We clawed, we chained,
our hearts in vain
We jumped, never asking why
We kissed, I fell under your spell
A love no one could deny
🎶🎶

A yawn escaped my mouth as I shut the blarring alarm, set on my phone, before it could become a nuisance. It was one of those rare occasions where I didn't snooze it for every 5 minutes till another hour would clock away. Having had a peaceful sleep last night, I was all geared up for a wonderful Wednesday morning. I got up to do my morning routine before setting off to my office.

Office!

I scoffed internally, as I sat in my car, reversing from the parking lot of my home or should I say Raghav's.
How the absence of two people could make such a difference. It didn't feel as 'my' office anymore without my two buddies — Asim and Raghav, though the rest of the gang was still working out from the same Coimbatore office.

Raghav had just left for his first onsite assignment to the States along with his girlfriend, lucky him! Whereas, Asim got promoted to project manager and shifted his base location to another branch in Coimbatore, that was in need of managers. And, here I was still driving back to the same old office, sans Raghav, whose home we were previously sharing, had now been officially annexed by me. I chuckled at that thought and couldn't help but be happy for everyone's new beginning, even though we were apart.

Increasing the volume of the car radio and enjoying the upbeat songs during my drive down to office, I couldn't help but miss those two idiots, whom I call as my best friends. This office has given me so many things but it's our friendship or what others say — Bromance, is what I cherish the most. We do keep in touch though we are not together. Still it's not the same.

After parking my car in my designated lot at the office's basement parking area, I jogged upto the elevator to catch it just in time. Out of habit, I pressed nineth floor and stifled a laugh at my inattentiveness. Quickly, I pressed the sixth floor and viola the door opened for me. Thank goodness, else I would have take the stairs down to come to my new floor.

Yes!
New floor,
New business unit,
New project,
New team
— that was my new beginning.

What an irony how the three of us were stepping into a new phase of life at the same time.

I exited the elevator, not before pressing all the buttons, much to the horror of it's few occupants. Smirking at them, with a mischievous glint in my eyes, "Have a good day fellow mates". I waved my hand above my head with my back towards them.

Content with ticking off the first mischief of the day, I happily made my way towards the ODC (Offshore Development Center). Some set professional goals, some set personal goals and I set both long-term and short-term goals in both areas. I had just achieved my first KRA (Key Result Area) of my personal goals, now it's time for action for the next one. I highly doubt the next KRA would fall under which category. I convinced myself stating – Striking two birds with one stone!

Swiping my card at the entrance, I entered the wing and made way to my bay. I shook my head and chuckled inwardly at sight in front of my eyes. In the entire empty wing, giving out dungeon like vibes, ten heads sprawled above the desk separators and all were from my bay.
I didn't even have to do anything today to achieve my second KRA, there my team was already seated, all ready to start the day at the strike of ten in the morning.
