Chitra's POV
🎶🎶
You know you love me,
I know you care
Just shout whenever
and
I'll be there
You are my love,
you are my heart
And we will never,
ever, ever be apart🎶🎶
As I entered the premises in a dramatic way, I loudly exclaimed, "Missed me?"
My eyes scanned through the room occupants to gauge their reactions and the shock evident in a certain someone's eyes - Ria's made me chuckle internally.
Time for some action and fun! I smirked internally.
Vicky stood up and walked towards me, giving me the welcome I was looking forward to. While side-hugging me he sighed in relief, "Thank God you came! I was waiting for you."
I could no longer hide my chuckle at Vicky's whining along with the stark contrast expression on Ria's face. Was it a sign of unwelcome or disappointment? Only time would tell.
Turning my face towards to Vicky, I asked," Looks like you missed me alot!" By emphasing the word 'alot', it may look like I was rubbing salt on a certain someone's wound and hint of burning smell was just adding fuel to me, to continue.
"Yup!", came his instant reply with a nod. As I went forward to greet the others, he went on to state the atrocities he had to go through in my absence and I just nodded without looking at him. He turned to give Akhil a challenging look, "Now we'll see what happens! You see over there, that's my support. Now gang up and show!"
After hugging Ria, I spun on my heels, placing my hand over my mouth, I let out a gasp. "Am I hearing things now? Did I just hear Vicky asking for help from his bully's?"
When he cast me a dirty look, I giggled. "You were supposed to be on my side, Chitra!"
Chuckling away, I made my way to fall in line with him and patted his shoulder in comfort. "Take a chill-pill Vicky. Let me bask in my glory, it's in once in a blue moon thing for you to state something like this. I feel honored!" I tugged my imaginatory collars, while he rolled his eyes in response.
Rubbing my palms, "Getting back to the point, so the one's in the danger zone, a word of caution - BEWARE!" I looked at Akhil, who just dismissed me nonchalantly.
Settling into a seat beside Vicky, he asked, "What took you so long? I thought you were going to cancel dropping in?"
"Why would I miss this golden opportunity?" In an instant came my reply.
"Oh! So it was pre-planned?" Akhil enquired.
"Yeah! I came to Ooty for my cousin's so called 'destination wedding' and when Vicky informed you guys are planning for a trip at the same time, it was like icing on the cake. I wrapped up the wedding visit and made a run over here, a better place for my sanity".
Few people shook their heads in amusement while the youngsters who could relate to my feelings, had a nice laugh.
"So Vicky invited her?" Ria soft mumble made way to my ears, whilst others branced out to other topics of discussion.
I raised my eyebrows in question, to which Ria shook her head in negative and stated aloud, "Nothing. Glad you could make it".
Huh-uh?!? Oh Really? My inner sarcastic self retorted.
