Ria's POV
🎶🎶
Pardon my interruption
This drink's just settling in
And all my reservations
A reason I don't exist
🎶🎶We all fell back into our work peacefully, going through the tsunami of emails pouring in our inboxes, since our last deployment. Most of them were baseless questions from business users on simple things.
If the user faces any issue while using the online application, they usually raise a support ticket or call support representatives. These support tickets will be answered by another team called application production team. The main responsibility of the production support team is to monitor and maintain the stability of the application in production or live environment. Also, resolve the tickets raised by the users at the earliest within the SLA timelines, to avoid any impact to the business. Based on the severity of the ticket, if the SLA is not met, it would rise to heavy penalty upto millions of dollars, imposed on the company.
We, the development team, are only responsible to maintain and develop new functionality as per the user's request, in non-production or lower environments, where we test our work. We neither have access to the production environment or the data, but still if the production support team aren't able to resolve the ticket on their own, they seek our help.
Having said that, the emails clearly depicted that the production support team, did not try anything from their side and blindly redirected each and every ticket issue, alias production incidents, to the development team. They didn't even go through the right channel of intimating the management of the development team, or keep them looped in the emails.
What the hell, do they think they can just dumb their work on our heads??
Look at their tactics too, avoiding the management channel, to get the work done but not showcase their incapability and take credit of our work?
Just wait and watch, Ria do her magic. Next time you guys will think twice!
I pulled up my sleeves in frustration to kick some ass via my emails. People just take too much advantage of the development team. While I was fully focused on chalking out that email trying to articulate and highlight the issues tactfully, I could hear the rise of the buzzing sounds from the bay, where the team was seated. Giving it a quick glance, I saw Mythri inside our team's bay. Paying no heed to it, as it was obvious, many people would stop by our team to chitchat on our team's recent trip to Ooty.
"You should have joined us too, like Chitra did, it would have been more fun". A chilled out Akhil, resting on his swivel chair to it's maximum reclining position stated.
A shriek was heard, that caught my attention, that's supposedly escaped from our very own Mythri Gaaru's (Madam)' mouth.
"What!! Chitra came?" Mythri asked in disbelief, to which Akhil nodded in response. Immediately she turned towards Vicky and questioned him.
"Why did you invite only Chitra? You could called me too, I would have also joined".I raised my eyebrow in question, why did she think we would call her for our team's bonding trip? My desk being away from the team, had made my reaction inconspicuous, thankfully. My eyes then drifted toward an unruffled Vicky, whose stoic stance said he was engrossed in this desktop.
"Viks! I'm talking to you, answer me!", whined Mythri, whilst nudging his shoulders. To my ears it sounded like the annoying screeching of a cracked door. I would have even pited the door too, but she was plain annoying. It was alarming how people tolerated her.
