Vicky's POV
🎶🎶
They like to get you in a compromising position
Well, they like to get you there and smile in your face
Yeah, they think they're so cute when they got you in that condition
But I think it's a total disgrace
🎶🎶Splashing my face with water, I held onto the sink edges with my hands and looked up to see a tired, defeated mirror image of myself. The picture in front of me, depicted a scene miles away from my true self.
This can't be happening!
I can't let anything or anyone have such a hold on me.
I will not give this authority to anyone!
Buck up man!
This is life, nothing happens as you wish but doesn't mean you should give up.
Unhappy with my never-say-die attitude slipping away like sand between the gaps of my fingers, I gave myself the much needed pep talk to bounce back to normalcy. Throughout the entire ride to the office, I was thankful of the one sided conversation from the good wolf in me, that was constantly howling and hounding my minds with positive thoughts.I steeled my backbone ramrod straight and walked up to my desk, determined to shake off the past and just concentrate on the project in hand. Unfortunately, everything flew out of the window, the moment she came into my sight. I wasn't practically crying over split milk. I couldn't help, when the very reason for our splitsville was right in front of me as a constant reminder of the bitter residue it left behind.

And I say
I fight authority, authority always wins
Well, I fight authority, authority always wins
🎶🎶My state of mind had turned topsy-turvy whereas, Ria Sehgal was in full control of her emotions.
Effortlessly occupied in her work, she wore the professional, boss lady attitude, in her wine blazer suit with cream button down shirt. Looking unfazed and every bit of her stance screamed out loud, that she'd recuperated very well from our break up. The black beaded Mangalsutra (nuptial chain) wound around her slender neck, shone triumphantly garnering my attention or rather say pricking my eyes, was the proof of her excellence in 'moving on' from our break-up.
Unable to look at it for any longer than a few seconds, my head involuntarily whipped sideways, tearing off, from being in the Mangalsutra's direction contact. Just like one's eyes would get blind sighted, if gazed at the bright sun.
Vicky, kala chashma phehan aur chup chaap kaam per dhyan de
(Slide on your aviators and silently concentration on your work).
Restrain yourself from unworthy attractions that could do more harm than any good.I reprimanded myself, from calling upon any upcoming doom.
After all, All that glitters is not gold! Now everything looked black, gloomy and dull. Nothing could catch my attention due to their sparkle. Donning the aviators, had an added advantage of restricting my emotions to be visible to the naked eye.
Akhil sauntered casually into the bay and discarded his backpack on the table adjoining mine.
"Good Morning, Vicky!" He chirped, his mood a total contrast of mine.
