Chapter 11 - The Mystery That Only Continues to Grow

All members of the Knights of Aincrad waited patiently around their large table waiting for Eugeo to get back with some news. Kirito leaving the day prior without warning was a surprise to them all. Yes they had found out that morning that Kirito was indeed part of a group of people who recently came out as orange players, however they didn't exactly believe it. The list of names were all people who participated in floor clearings and have never done anything remotely bad before leaving the guild wanting to ask Kirito what happened but alas he left too quickly. Another thing that was strange was Eydis had not said a single word since the event.

"I'm back" Eugeo simply stated as he walked in and sat down, "Give it to us straight Eugeo, what's going on?" Renly asked, "What's going on is that Kirito is apart of a group called The Black Swordsmen. This group consists of Kirito, Asuna, Klein, Eiji, Yuna, Zekken, and Lux, at least the confirmed ones we know. Their 'objective' you could say is that of a task force, they work exclusively in secret and protect players before a danger can arise. They've acted for a long time it seems and have people on the inside." Eugeo explained, "Kirito, how long has he been in this group?" Bercouli asked, "That's the thing, he's been there since floor three. He wasn't too terribly active and only went out at night but that was increased after Sortilena's death." The whole group was silent for awhile before Eugeo spoke again, "Kirito was like a brother to me, we told each other everything so there must be some reason he's kept this all a secret." Everyone silently agreed, whatever Kirito was up too had to have been for a good cause.

"Eydis" Fanatio started, "you were there weren't you, what exactly happened?" For the first time today Eydis stopped staring at the floor she suddenly found interesting as of late and noticed all eyes were on her. "Um, well" Eydis started but unfortunately was interrupted, "She was saved by Kirito, who had to take a life to do so" a voice said from somewhere. All of a sudden the sound of a cloak being taken off was heard and there on the table stood a dark elf. "I am Kizmel, friend of Kirito and The Black Swordsmen, sorry for the sudden intrusion but I have been sent to retrieve young Eydis here. The blonde swordsman was kind enough to leave the door open long enough for me to slip through." Kizmel formally said. This left the others in shock. "What the blonde has said all the information you'll receive about us, we've made sure of that. Now please excuse us." Kizmel finished while grabbing Eydis. Kizmel then brought out a teleport crystal muttered words and both of them vanished.

The remaining Knights of Aincrad did not say a word for at least five minutes. "Once I get a hold of Kirito I'm going to kill him with his own swords." Alice angrily stated before leaving, Eugeo not far behind her.
