I roll down the window of the car to try a password. I press my fingers into the cold silver buttons to try the first password. A loud piercing noise is made signalling my failure. I try another password that could possibly be it. There are a few passwords that are the main ones that most people in the rebellion use to try and keep things uniform in case things like this happen. I try the next one which produces the same piercing noise and causes a slight panic in me. I press the next four numbers praying that it works. Thankfully, the gate makes a low creaking noise and swings open.
I pull the car through the gate, and it closes behind me. The car inches forward until three men with guns step in front of my path from behind the trees that line the path to the building.
I step out of the car with my hands up.
"Olivia Bridges?" One of the men questions loudly.
"Guilty as charged," I mutter. "You can put your guns down."
All the men quickly do and I walk up to them.
"Let's get you inside." One of the men greets me as I walk up. "Just follow the path up" He instructs.
I nod and walk back to the car in order to drive closer to the building. I follow the path and pull up to the warehouse where they have made their base.
The path leads to the back where I assume once was the place where deliveries were made. Now there are three cars parked in the back.
Their leader is Lana, a middle-aged woman with long grey hair. I don't know much about her, but I have no choice right now but to trust her.
I park beside the cars, get out and walk up to Lana who nods at me. "Olivia."
I give her another nod back. "Hello," I say, a little uneasily.
She looks back at the guys who had ushered me up and back at me. Her hard features softening a little. "Why don't we go talk somewhere?" She jerks her head toward the entrance. "And then you can get a tour."
I simply nod, following her to the entrance.
The door leads to a long white hallway with doors on the side. Lana stops at the second door on the left. The room is an office with a pretty standard desk, a computer, and two chairs. Other than that it's blank.
Lana sits down in the chair behind the desk and I sit in the one in front of it.
"So what happened?" She questions. While doing so she's staring at me, almost appraisingly. It's unnerving, to say the least.
"What was on the news?" I question her back.
"A base was neutralized and the Alpha Primum had found his mate." She spits out angrily. "And then the thing about you, escaping." she shrugs. "That's about it."
"Okay." I fidget a little. "They showed up this morning, so they put me in a truck with two others. They got me right at the fence, but I think the other two got away."
Or at least I hope so. If Ryan and Alyssa got captured- or worse- I don't know what I'd do. Except, oh my Goddess Victoria. I need to figure out what happened to her.
"I don't know what happened to anyone else." A shiver of panic crawls up my spine but I try to tamper that. It will do no good for anyone if I give in to it.
"I haven't heard anything about anyone. All communication ways have been silent." She tells me. "Go on." She urges.
"Umm- and then they took me to the packhouse."
I choose to omit the phone call. I don't really care to tell anyone about the Alpha Primum's attempts at talking to me.
"Once I got there the Alpha's mate took me to change and gave me the keys to the car."
