chapter 24

Then the room erupts. There are screams from all around me.

Taura yells something about me being a stupid sapien.

Her mate is holding her to him and shaking like he's about to shift right in front of me, baring his teeth.

Some council members are sitting their mouth agape at me. Others are yelling either at Taura, Taura's mate or maybe that's also at me. I can't really tell.

Clara stands up to scream at the Lieutenant Delta.

Beside me, Alyssa makes eye contact.

Gamma Collins frowns, clutching her arm tightly.

Alexander's other sister, Adelaide, has an amused smile on her face.

And I just start laughing at how ridiculous this moment in time is. Giggles rise up in me, making my shoulders shake.

My response seems to only anger the couple that I had assaulted even more. The Lietenant Delta's face screws up and looks like he's about to yell something before-

"Stop!" Alexander yells, his voice deep and powerful, standing up beside me in the seat that we share. 

Everyone in the room pauses, including myself. My laughter ceases.

Them, because he is their Alpha and they have to. The Alpha command is heavy and none of them fight against it as they go down immediately. He is the most powerful presence of anything I have ever felt in my life. It's dizzying. The fact that this man is only mine-

I stop too. For me it's because I know I'm screwed. I have no idea how angry Alexander is going to be at me, but I know it won't be pretty. And like I said, he is a very imposing man. I'm not scared of him, but I'm scared of all the things he can do.

I don't care that I threw a knife at the girl. At this point, I wish my aim was a little more on the nose and not just wanting to scare her. I could have taken an earlobe at least.

I turn to my side in order to face him head on. His eyes flash the coldest blue they have ever been.  He meets my gaze with his eyes flashing.

"Sit down." He snarls a command, not only to me, but to everyone at the table. 

Yeah, no. Sitting by him is the last thing in the entire world that I want to do right now. My body is hot and my hands shake with adrenaline. I turn on my heel, taking a step away passed our shared chair. I am eager to leave the room, but don't get my wish when he grabs me by the hips.

Let's be real, he's definitely done with my shit. He picks me up like I weigh nothing and sits down with me in his lap. This is not like other instances where he has been gentle in his handling of me. I shudder as my back is yanked flush to his front and his arms fasten themselves around my front, locking me into him. The sparks don't help the heat that I'm already feeling over my body. His thighs are muscular beneath me. I squirm a bit before one of his hands comes down on my thigh, grasping to stop me.

A shudder unintentionally goes through my body as I remember the tightness of the black dress on my body and the look in his eyes when he saw me in it. One thing about Alexander is that he is a pure solid man and I can feel every single inch of him beneath me.

"I want to make a couple things very clear." He starts, his tone deadly, commanding the attention of everyone in the room. "If anyone here ever suggests anything about the Luna of the Astra pack they will be punished. She is the mother of your Luna Primum and will be respected and honored. Not to mention she is already a Luna of one of our packs. " He stops, his tone growing angrier. I can feel the growls vibrate underneath me. "and If I ever hear anything about my mate, your Luna Primum, not supposed to be alive again, they will be whipped and off of this council. You will respect her and her position. I will not tolerate anything different. Understood?"
