The Purpose? (Naruto Accused And Neglected Fanfic)

Ch-12

Today was a very important day in Naruto's life. Today he would be either punished or will be set free with respect. Why was he scared about being punished, he shouldn't doubt his friends right? But still somewhere in his heart he did have a bit of fear. 'No that won't happen, it's obvious for Neji to get angry and react like that but others are not same. They will save me from this for sure' thought Naruto. His thoughts were interrupted when he saw a guard come to his cell. "Come brat, it's time for your trial in the court" said the guard. Naruto took a deep breath and mentally assured himself as he was being locked in handcuffs by the guard and taken to the court.

Menma , Narumi and their friends were walking their way to court. Hinata had a sad look on her face as she thought about Naruto. No matter how much ever she tried she was not able to move away his thoughts. Hinata's eyes were filled with tears when she felt a hand on her shoulders , "Sh-shino?" asked Hinata. "Don't cry Hinata stay strong. Reason?....if you breakdown then he will get more strength to fight for his crime" said Shino in monotonous voice.  "Hmm" replied Hinata with still that sad look on her face.

Naruto was on his way to the court accompanied by the guards. Due to yesterday's torture Naruto's right leg was severely injured, as a result he was walking with the support of a stick. When he reached the court he saw that more audience was present today than last time. Soon his eyes met some familiar faces, 'Hinata' he thought with a smile on his face 'she looks as beutiful as always'. As soon as guards unlocked his handcuffs for him to walk to the suspect box, instead he went staright to Hinata walking as fast as possible with his one leg and caught her hand "Hinata-chan!!" He said with a wide and innocent smile. Hinata pulled her hand out of his hand and slapped him on his face. Naruto was left shocked after this. He felt like his doubt is coming true. He touched his cheeks with hand and said in a surprised tone "H-hinata-C-chan?". Soon three guards ran to him and dragged him to the suspect box.

"It is time now. The trial shall begin." said Tsunade. "Naruto do you still have something new to say for your defense?" Asked Orochimaru. Naruto was not paying attention to them. He was shaken from that slap, that one slap was like he had got all his answers. Hinata was the kindest person he had ever met and for her to slap him. He kept thinking and thinking , his heart beats were getting faster and faster, he was getting more and more insecure about the situation now, he felt like his little hope is fading away. "Naruto!!" shouted Tsunade,Naruto suddenly got up from his train of thoughts when he heard Tsunade's voice as he flinched. "Do you have something new to say in your defense?" Orochimaru repeated his words. "N-no nothing new...what do you think I am coming up with stories to present you with new chapter" said Naruto. "As you can see there are many evidences against you while you have no one in your support so..." Tsunade was stopped in her words by Naruto , "No I have my friends in my support, they know that I could never do that" said Naruto as he pointed towards his friends. "Oh I see...who do you want to call out for?" Asked Jiraiya. "Sasuke" replied Naruto in an instant. For him Sasuke was no different than a brother. He trusted him a lot.

Sasuke was called out to come in witness box. "So Uchiha Sasuke what do you want to say in support of your friend Naruto" asked Jiraiya. "Friend? Hn. Don't call this demon in front of me a friend. I have nothing to say in support of him" said Sasuke in furious tone as he turned back to take his seat. Naruto's eyes widened, he couldn't believe what his brother-like friend just said to him. "W-we are friends r-right Sasuke, w-what are you saying?". Sasuke turned back to him looked directly into his eyes with sharingan activated. "We were never your friends in the first place" said Sasuke with little pain as he said those words " you were never our friend...you were just a duty. Duty assigned by Lord Fourth to keep a check on you and your moves. That's why we let you in our group...to always keep an eye on you" said Sasuke in cold voice. Naruto just looked and looked at Sasuke's eyes and in an instant he was put in a Genjutsu where he saw eveything that occur that day "I suspect....that he is the one who stole the Forbidden jutsus scroll. So your guys mission is to keep a check on Naruto and check if he uses any of the Forbidden jutsu."
Naruto came back from Genjutsu. He saw it, he saw everything. 'I was just a mission' he thought. His heart beats were getting faster and faster. So much of sadness was filled within him.So many memories of his friends flashed before his eyes. Sasuke returned to his place after he said everything. "Looks like you have no one on your side" said Jiraiya.

Soon after some time Hinata was also called out to witness box. "Hinata Hyuga, you are the victim of this case...and unfortunately it is your friend who is the suspect. Do you think Naruto can do this to you" asked Jiraiya. "Naruto...he was a really good person, to think h-he did so-something li-like th-that to me..." Hinata couldn't continue as she started crying. "Please Jiraiya-sama I think she is in no state to say right now will you please give her a little time to recover" said Hiashi with concern in his voice as he saw his child crying in front of everyone in the court.
Everyone gave their sympathies to Hinata and felt sad for how horrible Hinata's state has become. "Hinata's words really matter a lot in this case as a victim....also there are no more evidences against Naruto so we have to end this court session. Next day for the trial is after three days, till then the court is adjourned." Said Tsunade as she dismissed the court.

After 2 hours.

Naruto was sitting his cell with an expressionless face. Memories of his friends were repeating back to back in his mind like a tape, laughs they had, missions they had, dinners they had, talks they had. Naruto was trying to find if there was any hint of forcefullness in those smiles. 'All of that...was......fake?. So I never had any friend? ' thought Naruto. 'More three days...I can't endure this torture anymore. Each and every part of my body hurts, All of this torture only in two days and now....now I have three more days to face. I won't make it alive...I know for sure. Endure this pain for whom? There is no one in support of me so there is no chance of mine to get out of this. Those horrible tortures....they don't even let me sleep. They are worse than any nightmares. No...no...no...I can't take any more of them. THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY OUT OF THIS' suddenly Naruto's heart beats slowed down. He became calm now like he has finally decided something. He slowly closed his eyes and let a single drop of tear come out of them 'This will be the last tear that I will shed' thought Naruto. "Hahaha looks like even my last wish to die as a shinobi is destroyed now" laughed Naruto in a very slow and weak voice. Behind this laugh was hiding his pain and his sorrow. "Do I have any purpose? Why was I born? Was it just a mistake of fate? Was I ever supposed to be born? It was Menma and Narumi from starting. I was just a mistake of destiny which is trying to  correct it's mistake." murmured Naruto to itself.

Soon Naruto heard his cell's gate open and saw two people coming towards him. One of them had a belt with spikes while other had chains. Then all of a sudden every torture flashed in front of his eyes, those chains, those iron nails, those hammers, those baseball bats, those hot metal rods, that Ice slab, that pool of blood, that sensation of pain...
No he couldn't take it anymore. He shook his hands vigorously in front of them and joined his hands together facing each other in a trembling way,
"No no please don't hit me, I accept it...I accept that I was the one who tried to rape Hinata that day. I will accept anything you want me to just please don't hit me.... I won't survive it" Naruto begged. "Oh finally!! Good that you accepted it. You will anyways not survive, you will be hanged to death as a punishment...that's  the punishment for attempt to rape." said one of the person. "I should let Hokage-sama and the Sanins know this. Then the judgment day will be held tomorrow itslef. Sheesh!! Finally we are free from this. I hope you are not saying this just to escape the torture " said another person. "No no absolutely not I will say everything tomorrow" replied Naruto.

"Though I won't survive anyways, it is atleast better than to die everyday with than kind of torture" said Naruto to himself. 'So....tomorrow it is, I wanted to support my siblings in upcoming days but looks like my days are over' thought Naruto.
