Mayank Markande had it all, success, the best friends he could ask for, and amazing parents. But yet, he hasn't found his other half. He's seen the senior player's eyes light up with a smile when their wives call. He's seen his friends watch their girlfriends with a smitten look on their faces.
He wondered if he'd ever find his person.
Then came into his life, Mahi Dalal.

"Mayank!" A feminine voice called out, and a man turned around. He was fresh-faced and charming, but the girl's smile disappeared and a frown appeared on her face.
"Uhm... Not you... Him," She pointed to behind him, and Mayank whirled around. Over there stood one of the Support Staff, Mayank Singh. Mayank was good enough friends with him.
"Mahi?" Mayank Singh's eyes lit up with recognition, as he surged forward. Wrapping his hands around her waist, he swept her off her feet. Quite literally.
"I smell something burning..." Someone in the team snickered, and Mayank dared anyone else to speak up with a menacing glare.
"Miss me?" Mahi chuckled and kissed the other Mayank's cheek, and a few 'awws' came from the crowd.
"Who wouldn't miss their girlfriend?" He'd responded, and Mayank clenched his fist. He wondered why he wanted to punch that guy in the face.
But one word shattered his world,
Girlfriend,
