"Welcome, Master Kenobi," Master Windu said cooly, his face of stone completely devoid of noticeable emotion. This normalcy shouldn't have made me any more apprehensive.

It did.

"Hello, Masters," I replied as calmly as possible as I walked to sit in my chair. Anakin, who'd entered behind me, nodded his greeting and sat in the attendee chair, situated across the room from me. When he looked up, he caught my eye, giving me the most unnoticeable and comforting smile he could. I looked away in response to try and evade the grin rising on my face.

Speeders crawled idly by outside the windows, and the Coruscant sun sat comfortably in a cloudless sky. The skyscrapers surrounding the temple glinted majestically, their varied shapes and heights turning the horizon into an elegantly ragged skyline.

The meeting began with a question posed by Master Yoda regarding a group of newly initiated Padawans. On the way to Illum, they'd been pulled from hyperspace and  crash landed on a moon. They had been accompanied by a Nil'far Thum, a Kel Dor Knight who had enthusiastically volunteered to escort the young Padawans.

They'd worked together to figure out their location and prepared themselves for any dangers they might have faced, and one particularly gifted Padawan had fixed the transmitter and sent a message to the temple.

Yoda played it for us now.

A young Mirialan boy and a Twi-lek girl appeared in the center of the room, their futile tempts to mask their fear evident even in a hologram. The young girl stepped forward, speaking clearly, despite the slight wobble to her voice.

"Grandmaster Yoda, and the honored High Council, this is Padawan Maela Bitiin. We apologize for our call, we know you are very busy attending to the war, but we are in desperate need of help," she paused, swallowing.

"We were on our mission to Illum for the collection of our crystals when we were pulled from hyperspace and crashed on a moon. Knight Nil'far Thum was our escort, but he... he was killed trying to land the ship."

She looked to her right, where to my horror I realized Thum's body likely still sat. She looked back, her face resolute. I shivered.

"Everyone else is alright. We've been able to locate ourselves on a moon in the Core Worlds, Dybrin 12."

I shuddered, knowing that the moon was a nasty place. I'd never been there myself, and that was not a coincidence.

"The atmosphere of the moon we've landed on is poisonous to all but my friend here, Risho Kor. Using the pressure suit, he has been collecting mushrooms for us to eat, but we're running out of oxygen and resources. We need help, and we need it fast. If anything can be done, we will be grateful, but if not, it is the will of the force. Thank you for your time."

The hologram blinked out, and the room launched into passionate discussion. Despite a war, we could never with good conscious or sense abandon our Padawans- they were the entire future of the order.  While deciding what was to be done to help the young ones until someone could collect them, I found myself unable to pay attention. Anakin was offering ideas right and left despite being an attendee, and the council was enthusiastically welcoming his ideas.

Mace even seemed glad for his input, and I realized Anakin was putting them in a good mood, likely very intentionally. I smiled as I recognized real emotion in his eyes- he cared truly for their safety. I sat there, smiling like an idiot, until the discussion came to an enthusiastic close.

Anakin would leave the next day for the moon, with Ashoka. They'd take a shuttle with a detachable land vehicle with remote piloting capabilities to collect the Padawans. They would board the vehicle, and Anakin would pilot the shuttle to collect it. If something went wrong with the land vehicle, Anakin and Ahsoka had backup suits that would allow them an hour on the surface, during which they could collect the Padawans in person. The young Jedi would be back on Coruscant within a week, and the room seemed relieved to have a valid solution to this issue.

"Thank you, we do, for your input and offer, Young Skywalker," Master Yoda said with a small smile.

"Of course, Masters."
