"Annabeth, don't turn around, but I'm pretty sure some katoblepones are on table 4."
Annabeth sighed. She couldn't even have dinner with her boyfriend without something going wrong. Percy had surprised her with tickets to Putteneseca, her favorite Italian restaurant, but of course, you could never turn your demigod switch off, no matter how hard you tried.
"Should we lead them outside?"
"I don't feel like fighting today, Percy. If we leave in the middle of our meal it'll be obvious we're demigods." Annabeth pursed her lips and scanned the room with her sharp gray eyes. Percy loved that look. She was going to say something brilliant in 3, 2, 1-
"I'll get up to 'go to the bathroom', but I'll just hide in the janitor's closet. You say you need to go too and follow me."
Called it.
Annabeth got out of her seat and said, "I'm going to to use the restroom," soft enough so the other customers didn't hear, but loud enough so the katoblepones did.
"I need to go too." Percy got up and both of them went to the back of the store and into the janitor's closet. Percy closed the door behind them. He got dustpans, trashcans, brooms, and any other odd thing to prop up the handle. He then joined Annabeth in the closet's corner, hand ready on the hilt of his sword. Annabeth had her hand on her dagger, prepared for anything.
She looked up at Percy: his face held a look of steely determination, green eyes flashing. His biceps strained as he held his sword and a bead of sweat dripped from his forehead to his chin...
No, Annabeth. Now is so not the time for that. Annabeth eyed the door and listened for any movement, but the only thing she could hear was Percy's soft breaths right next to her. The closet was so cramped that one more step closer to him and...No. She had to clear her head of her deliciously impure thoughts.
"What's our plan if they break in?" Percy whispered. Annabeth gulped. His voice was so low and gravelly. She felt herself get warm, and not because of the closet's scorching heat.
"Annabeth?" Percy nudged her playfully with his shoulder. She bit her lip. The heat spread down to her stomach, and yes, even lower than that...
"Annabeth!" Percy said again, a little louder this time. Annabeth shook out of her stupor and collected her thoughts.
"Hopefully they won't find us. Our best bet is to wait until they've lost our scent so they leave. And if they find us, we fight."
Percy nodded. "How much longer do you think we'll be in here?"
"Umm...10 minutes?" Annabeth licked her lips. A lot could happen in 10 minutes...Besides, the katoblepones were most likely still at their table. She looked up at the cause of her discomfort.
Percy was more relaxed now that they'd stay in here for a while. Annabeth's odd behavior didn't go unnoticed by him. She kept on stealing glances at him, and her face was red. She was looking at him so intensely, that it was almost like...oh no. Did she just lick her lips? Percy felt his face go pink. Is she really thinking about that right now?
Apparently, Annabeth was thinking about that because she grabbed his shirt collar and crashed his lips onto hers. She moaned and threaded her fingers through his messy hair. Percy ran his hands up and down her sides, grabbing her waist. He trailed his lips over her cheekbones, jaw, and neck...Annabeth felt like he was everywhere.
"Percy..." she whispered. He just nipped at her neck again.
She played with the hem of his shirt and snuck her hands under. She roamed over his shoulders and stomach. Percy went weak at the knees. Annabeth just smirked and continued teasing him. Frustrated, he ripped his shirt off and smashed his lips on hers.

"Gabe, your shift starts now."
Gabe rolled his eyes, heaving his stout frame off his chair. Muttering a string of curses, he trudged over to the janitor's closet. Wait. He stopped a few feet away from the closet: it was shaking from side to side and the items inside were rattling around. Were there rats in there? Gabe groaned. He was not going to deal with another rat infestation. He grabbed some vermin spray and a couple rat traps and approached the cupboard carefully. The rattling continued. He hesitated-hand at the handle-then quickly swung it open.
"What the hell-"
A/N: hope you liked the part at the end! I didn't plan to include it at first, but when inspiration calls, you must answer. Lol. R&R!!
