Sabre's POV
~Time skip after the tour~
I thought I would be more awake by now but apparently not. I'm still just as tired as I was before. I hope Rainbow is making breakfast. He makes the absolute best breakfast food in general. And plus- I fell like I would fall asleep in the middle of cooking. I don't feel like burning myself today. A moment later I saw Rainbow Steve and Galaxy Steve come running down the stairs. "I WIN!" Galaxy Steve shouted. "Dang it!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed in defeat.
"It was like- once we got to the stairs, it was dittlie done dang over." Rainbow Steve said sounding funny. "Huh- dittlie done dang over... that's kinda fun to say!" I said, repeating what Rainbow Steve had said. "Yeah why do you think I said it?" Rainbow asked while getting a pan out to make breakfast. "Fair enough." I said while going to sit down on the couch with Illusion following behind me. "Y'know- this house is actually pretty nice! Props to you for building it Elan." Illusion Steve said.
"Thanks." I said giving up on trying to correct him as well as closing my eyes. "Are you sure you got enough sleep? You seem really tired." Illusion Steve asked, trying to find any signs of tiredness. "Huh? Oh- yeah! I'm fine!" I said denying the fact I was actually really tired. "Oh no- Galaxy Steve! He's doing it again!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed. The only people that have been able to see through my lies are Rainbow Steve and Galaxy Steve when he's being serious. Which honestly can be pretty rare, but still possible.
"Oh no- Sabre, tell me honestly. How much sleep did you get last night?" Galaxy Steve asked while walking over to the couch me and Illusion Steve were sitting on. I didn't say anything. Galaxy Steve walked closer to me. "Sabre.. how much sleep did you get?" He asked a little more sternly. "2 hours...." I mumbled quietly. "Mind saying that a little more loudly?" He asked in a motherly sort of way I guess you could call it. "2 hours.." I replied louder than the first time.
"Wha- Elan! You told me you had a good nights rest! Good sleep is not 2 hours!" Illusion Steve said seeming offended. "I know." I replied, not making eye contact. "And why did you get so little sleep?" He asked with the same tone as before. "I don't know??" I exclaimed letting the tiredness slip into my voice in which I'm regretting. "Breakfast is ready!" Rainbow Steve exclaimed. "Your taking a nap today Sabre. You can't just go throughout the day with such little sleep!" Rainbow Steve demanded.
"But who's gonna go get recourses for machines?? Or what if something happens and I'm not there to help??! There is no way I'm letting that happen. You can't make me." I exclaimed, saying whatever came to mind. It seemed as though I didn't have a filter. Like whatever was in my mind got spewed out with nothing to block it/filter it properly. "For one, I think today's going to be an inside day. And for two, you really want to test my ability to make you take a nap or do anything in general? And three, the recourses can wait. Your health is more important to me than some machine parts." Rainbow Steve replied.
"Mhm. Sur-" I started saying sarcastically but stopped myself, having memories of them come through the back of my mind to the front. For instance, what would happen if I talked back to them.. which happened quite often seeing that I talk back to everyone whether they're friends or enemies. "Sorry.. I didn't mean to say that it's just-" I started before getting cut off again. "It's alright. I know it's hard to forget. So I understand, but you do have to realize that I really do mean it. I know they made your wall grow tall but that's okay. I'm here to help you to bring it back down where it should be. Where you can trust the people you meet. Instead of automatically assuming they're gonna hurt you. Like Green Steve- you wouldn't even go near him at first." Rainbow Steve said sympathetically.
Honestly- he is right. I have some SERIOUS trust issues. When we first met Green Steve I wouldn't even go near him for about 30 minutes to an hour until I finally somewhat warmed up to him. I pretty much just stayed behind with Rainbow Steve or Galaxy Steve the entire time. "Heh- yeah..." I replied to Rainbow Steve's whole said out, sympathetic paragraph. "Come eat breakfast. I made extra this time so if anyone wants seconds, then they can get it." Rainbow Steve said, walking away to the kitchen.
You'd be surprised by how often we have these conversations. It has to be at least once every month. And that's only the least. we all made our plates and sat down to eat. "I honestly should have known you were lying when you said you slept good. When you were younger, you would either refuse to go to sleep, let alone lay down in your bed, or try to sleep but fail because of who knows what?" Illusion Steve said after we sat down.
"Wait- is that actually true?" I asked curious whether it was or not. "Wow, you really don't remember anything before the taking. But, yes it is true. I think some of the things you came up with to not go to bed was 'monsters in the closet' or 'I need to protect mum and papa!' or something like that, and I should know, I had to be your personal guard and man sometimes it really was a pain.." Illusion Steve said, trying to recall things that happened back wherever he's talking about.
"Huh- I guess you've always just had that urge to protect the ones you love, haven't you Sabre?" Rainbow Steve pointed out. "From what it sounds like, yeah! I guess so!" I replied. "Huh- that's funny!" Galaxy Steve laughed a little bit. I didn't say anything about the 'insult' Illusion Steve tried to say. But I denied it so it didn't affect me! I have finished my breakfast before everyone. "Sabre, if you want, there is more up there. Like I said earlier, I made extra just in case anyone wanted more.
"I'm not that hungry. I'm more tired, I'm probably gonna go take a nap later today." I replied while putting my plate in the sink and going to sit on the couch again. "What? Is my cooking not good enough for you?" Rainbow Steve joked. Illusion and Galaxy Steve chuckled a little bit. "Nope! I guess not!" I joked back. Laughing in between. I closed my eyes once I was in a comfortable spot on the couch and the next thing I know, I slipped into darkness without another word coming from my mouth.
-Well hello there incredible hooman beings, I am glad you made it this far into this book and in all honesty, I'm more motivated to do this book than my other one. I went on there the other day and thought I wanted to work on it but I have absolutely no motivation for it. It has either 15 or 16 chapters too. Welp! Oh well! I have got nothing else to say so I'm gonna go die in starting the next chapter and I'll see you there!
Have a good day/night!
