Michael's adventure

Part 55

Dream turned to Michael with a smile painted on his face, "You're not getting out of here". Michael let out a harsh snarl before reaching into the back of his cloak. "If there is no other way, I chose blood!". He pulls out and smashes a handful of potions. One of the potions was a smoke bomb so Dream and Michael were blind. Michael has always had good hearing but fighting completely based on hearing was going to be difficult.

Dream shuffled his feet, and Michael swung at the sound. There was slight resistance against his sword so he clearly made contact with Dream. The metallic stench of blood began to fill Michael's nose, he knew he had cut him. Dream continued to aimlessly swing around, his sword eventually sliced through the skin on Michael's leg. They were both injured. Michael had used a strength, regeneration, and speed potion so as of right now he was significantly stronger than before, but there is a possibility he still isn't strong enough to defeat Dream.

After a few seconds of total silence, Michael heard the sound of glass breaking, it appears Dream also had potions. He swung at where the sound came from but was stopped with a loud metal clunk. Dream had blocked his swing. Michael quickly retracted into the smoke to think. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears. He began to lower his heart rate through breathing. Once his heart rate was lower his hearing was heightened. He carefully backed up onto a wall and pulled out a crossbow.

He closed his eyes and listened as hard as he could. Eventually, he could hear Dream's heartbeat. He quickly loaded the crossbow and shot at where he heard the heartbeat. He heard Dream's breathing hitch in pain. Michael heard footsteps, then a door open. He listened for the heartbeat once again and managed to catch on. He loaded the crossbow and shot. He heard a slight noise coming from the smoke, he reloaded and shot again. He shot over and over again. The smoke slowly faded away, just enough so he could see the outline of a body. The body was lying against the wall with arrows sticking out of it. He carefully approached. Once he became close enough to the body to realize who it was, he began shaking in fear.
